[More assailants are coming up there ropes, seeking to fill the spots on the balcony]
Ignoring Tirion, the assailents flood into the room in front of their Leopard masked leader.
/Vs. Rhett +7/ [dice=20] [dice=20]
/Damage +4/ [dice=8]
Through sheer force of will, one forces his blade into Rhett's shoulder. A strong blow, but not nearly enough to fell the burly man.
/Vs. Japic's Character +7/
[dice=20]
The veteran warrior is able to keep the blow fended off.
[Tirion quickly swings his sword and takes one of the warriors to the floor](The blow came so fast you don't even think the rest of them saw it)
[The Jokester launches his dagger a scores a glancing hit against the leopard masked man] /AC 23/
[Rhett takes down the warrior in front of him with one swing]
The Noble, having regained his feet, has seeming lost his senses.
[Noble moves to the left of Rhett]
NOBLE (With panicked authority): Make way!
[Haephastion prepares his spell]
The man in the Leopard Mask quickly ducks down into the crowd of bodies filling the balcony. He blends in perfectly, one second visable and with an obscure motion, he vanishes.
[Noises continue from the hallway behind, becoming louder.]
(It sounds like a group of people moving heavily and hastily]
/I can use Japic's full attack numbers against the goon that has rushed into your way or you can change your action. /
(Tirion: Best you can make out two more masked men are climbing up the ropes)
/Assailents are in A4, A5, A6, B4, A7. Tirion removed the one in B6[rand=904102341576146571670108626012694447486914562348354891854752121]

Rhett is attempting to guage if the noble has truly lost his mind or figure out what could be the problem here in terms of why he thinks he can rush headlong and unarmed into a combat.
Sense motive @+7 [dice=20]
--------------------------
"Stay with me, Boss," Rhett says in a low voice to the noble in a tone which one might use when trying to keep an ally alert and alive just long enough for the medic to arrive.
He will move to cover the noble wherever he should go, keeping his eyes peeled for the leopard.
He will use his attack to strike out against any who should attack or attempt to attack or close in on the noble. (Leopard takes priority)
--------------------------- move to cover noble. AC 18
Ready attack against leopard if he has not yet struck, if he has, since Rhett has poor init, attack biggest threat nearest to noble. (leopard is priority)
--------------------- PA for 3 if leopard, or 5 if cat goon [dice=20]+7 or +5

[The Jokester notices the other assailants and closes the distance, rapier raised]
He noticed his hit but there was no time to wait, standing and throwing wasn't going to get him through this night. He hesitantly decides to launch and attack on on of the masked party crashers. He assumes a grand form, watching his movements for any sign of attack.
--------------------------------------------------- Move to closest opponent, double move if need be.
If he has enough time left, activate dodge on that opponent.

Again the cane-sword is resheathed. Again it strikes- in a motion so practiced as to seem casual. (Making strike: Steely Strike. +4 to attack, -4 to AC vs. anyone but the target of the attack. Stance is Punishing Stance; +1d6 damage, -2 AC. Power Attacking for 4. Steely Strike (1d20+8=20) Steely Strike damage (1d10+12+1d6=21))

(Full attack anyone in my way. Try to either defend the Noble or take out the leader of the cat people. Leader of cat people is first priority if possible.)
(I'm short on time but Rediel will continue his assault hacking his way through opponents. Please roll for me as necessary. Full attack: Tooth +11/+6 & Nail +9/+4 for 1d6+7 & 1d6+5 dam. If he only gets one attack then add 2 to my to hit mods for Tooth, same damage.}

Okey Dokey. I guess this wasn't meant to be. I will remove 'LoveIs' from the moderator functions of this board. Should he stop back by, he can contact me to resume DMing.

WHat say you guys? Does anyone want to disclose their character sheets? We can post them up in the Shorts section and move them to retired eventually.
I know that we like to look at one anothers' sheets and see what people came up with. I've been curious a few times what you guys were up to/capable of and hopefully it was the same towards me. I tried to make my PC Rediel somewhat dynamic in the hopes that he'd stand out a little bit.
Sadly this game didn't last long enough to find out if things were going to work in the long run.

-The Asshole
You’re the bodyguard for the noble in question. Everyone knows this and you’re good at your job. You’re loyal to him and his money, though not trustworthy. You’re having an affair with his wife and his daughter. Your whole cushy life could come tumbling down if you make the smallest mistake, but you just can’t help yourself. Your bad attitude keeps most inquisitive people away.
You’re at the noble’s house doing your job. Word is an assassin is targeting a group of nobles who are working on an expedition to an ancient tomb, which includes your primary. The current party wasn’t much different from the usual one, but a particularly beautiful woman caught your eye. She spent almost all of the time near the noble, but you know she’ll be yours by the end of the night. Chicks love assholes.

The Quiet One
You’re the leader of an adventuring party. People live and die based on your decisions and it makes you sick to your stomach. Your biggest concern is getting everyone home. You wouldn’t be in this profession, but this is where you can do the most good for the world.
You’re at the noble’s house to discuss a commission, but not really. You’re trying to get information on an assassin who has been making other nobles disappear. Its equally possible that this noble is the cause of the assassinations or the next target. You haven’t gotten any good information, but apparently you’ve sealed up the commission you didn’t even want: some kind of recovery mission from an ancient tomb, which are you thoroughly disinterested in.

The Outsider You’re a historian who is not from around here. You keep records of your people and aren’t too keen on the foreign invaders who have been messing with your holy sites, but you can’t really speak up about it. You try your best to dissuade others from going to these places, but your means are limited. You’ve compromised and decided that education is the best solution to the problem. You’re at the party because you are currently in the noble’s service, teaching him about the holy sites he is interested in. You’ve heard of the assassins attempts and while you disagree with their methods, you can’t argue with their spirit. You recognized one of the guests, a beautiful woman in a red dress from the old country and the way she seeks to stay close to the noble makes you wonder about her motives. He leans heavily on an engraved staff topped with a carving of an open book. As is custom for wise men in his home nation, Haephastion coats his eye sockets in a greasy ebony material that makes him look like the walking dead in the right light--a fact he rarely tries to dispute. Haephastion speaks with a very odd accent, one few can duplicate. He elongates his 'o' sounds and mispronounces anything with a 'th' sound so that it sounds like an 'f'-- "Fat Oohver Fair!", one might hear him say. He is working on controlling this regional dialect, but there are times when he can't. [If Familiar Approved] Haephastion oftens sticks out in a crowd because of the company he keeps, a tiny mosquito-like insect he lovingly calls 'Kukoori'. This four-winged creature is rarely seen far from Haephastion, clinging to rafters or hiding in darkened alcoves at parties while his master dines and drinks. The Leader
You’re the leader of an adventuring party. People live and die based on your decisions and that fact doesn’t scare you in the least. You live for it. You take the biggest risks and its only fair you get the biggest slice of the pie.
You’re at the noble’s house to discuss a commission. You drank a good deal during the party, but not enough to phase you. The deal details never got finished, but it sounds like the kind that can make a career. Unfortunately, it also sounds like the noble is favoring someone else [The Quiet One]. You need a way to show him up so that you can get the job, the pay and most importantly the fame for your group (but mostly you). A great display of your superior prowess, if only their was an opportunity. Plus, it might impress the beautiful lady in the red dress.

Description: Though not the tallest of men Rediel Sooledraaw is well built for his frame. His dark brown hair is cut cleanly at jaw level, framing a scarred face that looks to have been through a few brawls. His nose is slightly crooked, having been broken on more than one occasion. Above his cleft chin the mouth wears a near perpetual smirk, and his dark eyes are full of contempt for most who meet his gaze. His right eyebrow bears two scars which run all the way past his eyelid; how the eye survived intact is unknown. His hands are rough with knuckles sunken from years of brawling, his body is marred with hundreds of scars from adventuring and tavern scuffles. Despite it all he still manages to be ruggedly handsome to some women, mostly the ones that are attracted to dangerous types.
Background: (short and sweet) He grew up in a tough neighborhood, loving to brawl. Eventually he became the leader of a gang of street toughs and left after he realized that some of the stupider members were going to bring him down with them. Finding a good life in adventuring he practiced on monsters and men alike, growing stronger in his talents. He'd been known for his fighting before he was truly a warrior, but staying true to his roots he still prefers to fight his foes "tooth and nail". Such bouts usually ended up with the cleverly named weapons embedded in someone's entrails.
He'd always been a leader of men and, not surprisingly, found himself the head of a group of adventurers. Thankfully they were a bunch of rejects who needed a firm hand, not a group with fancy ideas about how to get ahead in the world. They looked to him for guidance and he provided just that. When in towns he was responsible for drumming up business, and none of them were above things less than savory.
Now the mansion and the rich client's money were at stake and he- no, the group needed the job. When times get tough, the toughs get going.

...in fact, don't we still have that arena? I'd like to find out.

I wonder if I could have won the fight, if it came down to that? ...in fact, don't we still have that arena? I'd like to find out. Which fight? Against me? I hadn't realized that we were getting into a fight yet. It does seem as though he pitted me against you though. If there's a willing DM I'd be willing to throw my lot down for no reason other than a fight. (I have absolutely no idea what all your stances and such do; but I get the feeling that they'll make me disadvantaged if they call for saves in combat.) p.s. Shakes, I love the stuff he said about your PC. Sleeping with the wife and the daughter. He really is an asshole.

Yeah, that's what I meant- the conflict was kind of implicit. And no, I think few of my maneuvers call for saves. Most are pretty straightforward. In case you couldn't tell, Tirion was heavily inspired by the Japanese cult character Zatoichi. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zatoichi
