I may have misread Fade Away. Didn't notice it ends after a turn.
I was just observing not complaining btw.

I have my avatar back. While that isn't a big deal in and of itself, it means that I'll be able to post maps again, and maybe even fix old ones if I get ambitious enough. Just one of the many steps that I needed to do to get this game going again.

After reading the characters background and motivation, and realized that with a different party composition we might want to revisit how coins are distributed.
Currently coins are kept in a party treasure and dispersed as needed for purchases. But with a different composition, perhaps the group wants to split up coins. Also to to be decided is how magic items affect the distribution of coins (if it does it all).

To keep this game fun for everyone, I thought it might be a good idea to see what you, the players, would like to see. Are you looking for a lot of role-playing, or just combat with glossed over interludes? Is there any particular sort of mission that you would like to undertake? Any particular monsters that you would like to fight?
While I do have a module in mind to run next, I haven't actually expended any work in preparing it for this game, so I can still easily change to something else.

I am quite happy with a moderate amount of roleplaying, but do enjoy the fights on the maps too. I think the hardest part for the DM in pbps is allowing for both whilst also keeping the adventure going at a reasonable speed. There is no point in us spending the next 3 months ordering food in the inn. Although if some of the characters are eloquent and witty it could be entertaining. This time through my character is more of a fighter then a talker though so don't expect much more then bluffing from him.
At the moment it is hard to tell weither we will get much chance to roleplay because no one else has got round to posting anything. You have told everyone we are starting haven't you Harknail?

Everyone should have the most recent threads bookmarked. In case anyone has missed it, I've been posting in this thread. This is where you can introduce your new character. It's also where you can describe your old character. And the two can connect. At this point I'm waiting for players to post. While I'm waiting I'm working on getting my tools up to speed again. Last night I got PyMapper working sort of, but with no way to export maps

Currently coins are kept in a party treasure and dispersed as needed for purchases. But with a different composition, perhaps the group wants to split up coins. Also to to be decided is how magic items affect the distribution of coins (if it does it all). 1. Subtract party expenses (inns, healing, rezzes, some gear) from total. 2. Add value magic items could be sold for (half cost?) to total. 3. If a character ends up with a magic item from the loot, then subtract that selling value from their share of the coins. Example: 6 characters splitting up 21,000 gps and a magic item that can be sold normally for 3000 gps. Then character with the magic item ends up with 1000 gps (and the magic item). The other 5 each have 4000 gps.

While there's nothing wrong with that system, I will point out that the magic items found will typically worth more than all the other treasure put together, even when valued at the 20% sale price.
Harknail will go along with whatever system the others want for dividing treasure (or keeping in a group pool).
