The rain continues into the following morning and as the sun begins to rise the group gathers at the entrance and prepares to make a run for the monastery. If anyone has any plans for stealth or speed, magical or otherwise, now is the time.
Once the defenders are alerted it will only be a matter of time before the group is forced to flee or fight potentially impossible odds. Vadania makes a final check of the maps the priestess had given her and makes sure the key to the outer cloister was secure.
"Perhaps this would be the time to do your druid wolf thing" Lynette notes to both Ka'lion and Vadania.

Ka'lion attempts to assume wolf form but says nothing when the shapechange doesn't accure. He would of tried it the night before while on watch so he could see outside of the cave.

OOC: Looking at my character sheet, I noticed that her move silently was much lower than it should be. I probably didn't remove the armor penalties when I changed to armor that didn't have any. I'll need to inspect and fix all skills. While not skilled, Vadania should be reasonably able to sneak quietly. With an 18 dex, she'd make a good rogue IC: Vadania will carefully and stealthily look out the other entrance to look over the situation and the lay of the land while remaining concealed in the cave. She tries to plan a route to the door that would minimize the chance of them being spotted.

I'm confused. I thought this cave brought us inside the outer wall of the monastery. No - just very close to the entrance of a cloister on the far edge, where the monastery meets the rocky hills that line the valley (the monastery itself serves as a gateway of sorts to the east). The door is less than a hundred yards away through light foliage and trees, an infrequently used side entrance for an area used mainly by smiths, tanners, and herbalists. Being so far from the main gate it is not overlooked by any of the monasteries central watch points - Vadania thinks that simply dashing as quickly and quietly as possible through the treeline is the safest bet, the door itself is more exposed to view but it should only take a moment to open. She can't see any goblins or other enemies from the cave entrance. While there are amble spots to hide in the wilderness beyond none are close enough for any kind of ambush to be launched against the cave entrance with anything other than bows.

Ka'lion quickly reaches the door, a heavy oak and iron affair. There are signs of centuries of footfall but nothing that Ka'lion can see as recent.
The high walls of the monastery and the low sun to the east casts Ka'lion and the nearby area into dark shadow - Vadania cannot see the door itself from the cave entrance but can see Ka'lion vanish into the darkness as he moves, the priestesses were correct in suggesting that this would be a well concealed approach.

Vadania follows with Ylva, then waits for Lynette before unlocking the door, opening it a crack, and peering inside.

Peering through the door Vadania finds a roughly square room, surrounded by high walls and covered walks the central area is an uncovered garden area containing a large fountain. The plants here are withered and dead though it must have once been a pleasant and peaceful place to rest.
There are three exists, one on each wall with heavy doors leading into the monastery building itself. To the left is the main building, ahead the group would find the forge, tanners, stores, and other such utilitarian rooms, and to the right a small barracks and entrance to the jails and catacombs beneath the complex.

OOC: Assuming no one in sight at the moment...
Vadania asks Ka'lion, "Do you still want to start at the gallery?"

"Yes. When we get there just pour salt excessively on all the food and drink and then we head to the jails and catacomb's. We'll bring some food and water with us just in case we find starving survivors." said Ka'lion

Seeing no-one in the immediate area the group makes it's way around the edge of the cloister to the left door, finding it unlocked. The corridor within is lit by relatively fresh torches and there are signs of conflict - dried blood in spots on the floor but no bodies.
(assuming you want to head towards the kitchens, there are two, one much closer than the other)

The group move cautiously towards the first kitchen, finding it unused - indeed there is no sign of recent activity here at all. Food has been left here part-prepared for what looks like weeks, and the stores are significant.

Both Ka'lion and Vadania can make out the distant sound of chanting, coming from further within the complex - despite appearances the place clearly isn't deserted. Vadania puts up a hand for silence as she picks out another sound, that of a door being opened and closed not far away though not from the direction that the group came.
She also spots a glimmer of metal from beneath one of the tables, investigation reveals it to be a silverish ring coated in dried blood.

Vadania whispers, "There is someone nearby," to the others. She take the silvery ring, takes a swipe or two to clean off some of the dried blood, then puts it on. She'll work out what it does and whose it is later.
She reviews in her head the description of different places. Does it sound like the chanting is coming from the temple where the flame used to be kept?
