There you go Deek. I found the section of the code that does the bgcolor for the whisper, have changed it to be Black now. Better?

Ok, it's not cookies, not settings with IP and such, as I have static IP's assigned to me, never change from this computer. It's only one thread that does not allow me to save it opened. It's the Dragonslayers thread, which I have tested with each other game thread. I can have ANY of the other ones opened or closed, and it will remember those settings I leave them on. Then when I try to open the Dragonslayers thread, I refresh to test the saved settings, and it resets that ONE thread to ALWAYS closed. Doesn't make any sense to me unless the cloding on that thread is not exact with the other ones.

It's an IE thing, and it's not just us. I just keep forgetting to delete it. For some reason, it keeps appearing whenever I hit 'post' or 'preview'. If the latter, I delete it, otherwise I tend to neglect it.
I have no idea why it happens.
Edit: Case in point... But it doesn't happen at home where I use Firefox.

So wait
If you whisper a message and you fail to include yourself as one of the recipients, you won't be able to read what you wrote? Is that correct or did I screw something up. If it is right, that sucks a little.
and I get that stupid m thing too. Usually after I use a tag like the dice one and then press preview and the dice won't show until I delete the m.

True, but you can always click 'edit' on any one of your posts to see any and all whispers you included in them. Assuming that you remember that you whispered to begin with; but that's just me playing devil's advocate. What I really wanted to ask (since I haven't played with them) is if Whispers use the display name, or if they use the board registered name? Since they can be changed, it's something to wonder. For example, do I use the whisper feature to contact "K Man" or his official username "admin"? Do I use "TheZebraShakes™" or the official username "thezebrashakes"? Anyone know offhand? I guess I could play with it; but that would be too easy and not give someone the opportunity to flex their mental muscles and save the day.

It looks like it goes by the display name, so you'll have to remember that mine is trademarked. I'm not sure what it will do if someone switches their display name though.
I guess in terms of including yourself in the whispers, I'll just have to remember to do that if I ever use them. Or maybe they'll come up with a way to have the writer auto included in the whisper since admins can see them all. There must be a way.

I just found out that you can whisper dice rolls to yourself. That's good for people like me who DM games but don't keep any dice on hand and have to roll everything out in the open.
At least now there can be some degree of secrecy in terms of certain rolls where it doesn't make much sense for the players to know what the results are.

Nice. Now if only I could get it to say 'Show Mechanics' or 'Show Rolls' or something... Otto swings his longsword in a wide arc, catching the lead kobold across its belly. Blood and guts spill out onto the floor and the creature gives a choking cry, falling after its innards. [Attack @ +5] [dice=20] Total: 18
[1d8+2 damage] [dice=8] Total: 5 damage. Kobold 1 killed.

Yay, I like spoilers. I was hoping for a while that we'd get this feature.
I also noticed now that there's a tag that lets you post a youtube video or something. haven't tried it.

Testing the value on a recent post of a CoC game. Maybe this will allow for a more direct approach to separation of player and character knowledge. Or at least make it easier for people to ignore what their character doesn't know until afterwards. ----------------------------------- Tommy grumbles at the Doctor's objection to his sending the books back overseas. "You know, I bet the book disappearing wasn't even her fault, it was probably the Bloody Tongue or something. I bet the book was very telling of their actions or something and that's why Elias wanted it and they didn't want him to have it." Keeper only: (I thought this might be unnecessary, but then I considered there might be occasions where you might want the DM and only one or two player's characters in on your action.) In spite of their protests, when no one is looking Tommy decides to draft the telegram anyway, even if he isn't sending the books, he wants to have the option available to him. The perk of having an avid reader and an acquaintance who is familiar with many of Elias' works far outweighs, in his opinion, the rest of the group's hesitation. But maybe, just maybe, Tommy felt bad about lying to her and never telling her what happened to Elias.
Telegram: DEFINITE CULT CONNECTIONS ELIAS' DEATH STOP LONDON CONTINUING RESEARCH STOP NEED ASSISTANCE PLEASE RESPOND SIGNED CANNON & DEVEREUX
Tommy will send the telegram as soon as he can, hoping that Miriam remembers them and that the addition of Ms. Devereux's name to the telegram will add some credence to it. Tommy will fork over the 20$ with the utmost sorrow, but knows it will ultimately help.
Hearing their ideas for how to get the merchant to talk, Tommy digs out a copy of the newspaper he took earlier from the paperboy and hand it to the Doctor, "It's all yours. Just remember to be careful what you say." Tommy wishes to browse the store, seeing as there are a large amount and variety of people in there, he doesn't think he'll stick out too much. He wants to get an idea for its layout and see the sort of things that a spice shop sells.--------------------- What do you think? I think it might help with personal actions of characters, more so in CoC or other games than D&D and maybe with specifics splits in the group.

Well, that's a nice feature, especially to hide all the cluttering die rolls etc. There was of course already the whisper feature, so Yakumo's application is possible but for secret messages I still prefer the whisper feature.
