Okay, before we get too far ahead of ourselves. This will be the official 'who's interested in playing' list. So, if you're interested, respond. A recap of some of my rules/methods: 1. Only playable race is human. 2. Low magic / Low psionics - if any. 3. 'Shades of Grey' - Not a completely heroic bent, nor a completely villainous angle. It'll all make sense later. 4. This will be Modern Horror/Adventure. I will incorporate a lot of aspects from a lot of games - predominantly Cthulhu. But there will be no Sanity system. However, realistic responses to weird stuff are encouraged. Now. I'll hopefully be running the game's prequel sometime next week. It will be a one-shot game (obviously), with the idea of introducing you to some elements of the setting and to the rules (those that don't know d20 Modern). It should be fun. So, once again, post if you're interested. Official count, yo.

Interested. ;D
By 'Modern Horror/Adventure', would it be 'like' Silent Hill or something in the like? Just to have an idea..

you can count me in. All of your points are positive to me. I have no qualms with playing human, as humans have the "extroardinary ability" of not having racial behavior tendencies, I say. They can go anyway you like. Low magic; well, to be true; I've never even played a mage, sorcerer, and am totally new to psionics. The most magical class I ever did was with a bard. So no problem there. No qualms with the gray shades either. I don't know anything about Cthulhu, or a sanity system, but the doom-feeling K man said it has makes me enthused. So, I'm really interested.

But that's probably about right, I'm guessing, from what little I can gleen about its mood. It'll be dark, but it won't be as overwhelmingly dark as Cthulhu. ...All the time.

I dunno about Cthulhu, but, the more dark it is, the best it is. If you have a Playstation 2 (I dunno if other console have the game), play to Silent Hill 3. Really nice game If your an 'accro' of gaming and spend a lot of time on it, you should beat the game in less than 3 days. And, I assure you, it would give you ideas, at least, the atmosphere and the difference between the 2 dimentions are really great (Where we are, and a hell-ish dimmention where everything is destroyed, and endless pit and a high lack of light are here, with a suplement of monster who run after you{Who are the mutated version of people}.) I am also interested. I have no problems whatsoever with the rules - humans are cool and I'm a bit tired of magic and arcane things and stuff.
A question, though (this one's more towards the other players, mind you), I've thought of playing a "law enforcement/private investigator" type character, and I was wondering if there was any others who've thought of the same.

for now I haven't a clue yet as what I will play, except that it will be human of course... doh ... I would first like to now just a bit more what we'll be into, so I can keep that in mind too. PS: I had a question too, about the title: does "noctis" mean "the night", or should I now feel sorry I never pay much attention at Latin class...

well, I tried those before, but somehow my (perhaps overly paranoid) computer gives me a warning when I open the files saying they are damaged and it is recommended to close it immediately. Well, me and my computer brain dare not ignore that, so I do so. Anyway, you'd say those files, coming from an official site, should be good quality. Do any of you have the same problem?

Works fine for me Vemu...maybe you have a corrupted word program or something. These are .RTF documents, usually opened by Micro Word or something similar.
Could that be your problem?
Also, have you tried just downloading the whole thing to your PC in the .ZIP format?

Do you mean the stock warning that the files could contain malicious code? Windows gives you that on every file you download, no?

thanks for all the help; I'm happy to report the problem is now solved. I should've looked further then the length of my nose I guess. I have downloaded the whole .zip thing like you said Kman and it worked perfectly. Oh, and no I didn't mean that, toptomcat. I don't have this problem with anything else. But now that things are well again, thanks! I'm going to get myself a bit more up-to-date with those files.
