I have some pictures I took at the Royal Gorge last year; Ill have to see if I can find them and post up a few links. We visited in a blizzard; it was crazy. I'll see if I can dig up and then upload said photos. Here's one from their website to give you a vague idea of the bridge.

Personally, I'd like to get my ass to Alaska. I hear that wilderness is a sight to see! Alaska is beautiful. And utterly huge! He's dead-on about DC/New York, but it's hard for me to remember 'cause I grew up here. New York is more impressive to me, because it's taller (no buildings in DC can be higher than the Washington Monument by law). And see? They laugh about the Appalachians. But they're pretty. The Smoky Mountains part of it is even better. Oh, and KMan - I've been up Pikes Peak. That was a pretty neat ride. Looking over the side was a little, um, interesting, however.

Thanks for all the info and pictures! I've never even heard of the Royal Gorge, but Jezus, I watched the video and they said they built that bridge in 1929?? How the hell did they do that? As for going to America, it's a wish, which will cost me a lot of money moreover. It'll be some day, but not now probably. I haven't even got a job yet, and students are always poor. I've got a picture of the Grand Canyon too! It's a Google Earth picture actually. I thought it was hilarious when I was just taking a view on the Grand Canyon once for fun and I discovered it. It's also a bridge, but this one doesn't seem to bother about height records, instead aiming for steepness records. I don't know, it's probably because google earth doesn't do 3d models or something, but it cracked me up.
