Alright guys, i'm off next week to manchester for my phd viva. I'm staying up as i'm off out with friends so i'll have random access to a pc. Can someone cover my game posts please? In theory i should be able to make it other than the CotSQ updates but i might not, especially on wednsday, my viva day.

That makes me very sad. Good luck with that doctorate, though. (What is it a doctorate in, if you don't mind my asking?)

Can you chemically engineer me a better tasting black licorice? One that doesn't taste like ass? No no, you've got it wrong; it tastes like Anise. Have fun Wicks, we'll see you when you get back. Viva la resistance!

Have you tried Haribo's licorice wheels, K Man? They're pretty good.

What is an antifoam? Something that makes foam...unfoamitize?

Exactly that. They prevent the formation of or destroy foam.

Not quite, but your washing machine would be knackered without them. The detergents that are used foam like hell. Think the cartoons with the explosions of foam everwhere. That really happens without antifoam. I know because my boss did experiemnts in the 70s developing them for washing powder. He told me of the interesting experiments in the labs that sounded more like foam parties.
My area was looking at antifoams for paints used when the paints are made.
I passed BTW, i now sought-of-Dr until i complete my corrections, then i get the bit of paper saying i'm the real thing! It was hard though, 3 hours the viva took.

Then we shall call you Dr. Simon. You can't have a title like that without actually using it.
Cheers!

Chemical engineering isn't exactly the sort of thing that's open to not getting a job. Law or medical degrees, sure, you can do charity work, but a chemical engineer will get some funny looks if he's working for free.

I'm not really a chemical engineer. I am a physical chemist. My first degree was chemistry and my phd work was chemistry based. I know jack all about plumbing I'll get a job though. Spiral's just pissed because his nuts lie on the chopping block of his Japanese bosses. Any screw ups and they dine sushi style on his family jewels ;D
