OK, we are ready to play people. The Gods are crazy has wound up successfully so we can get playing this again when people feel like it. I'll drop PMs to everyone to remind them if they dont see this then we can get started.

I've been playing it with friends and they are doing surprisingly well. I can understand Shakes' abhorence of clerics now. He is the most powerful member of the party! Still, they are sensible in their spell selection and tactics and are progressing nicely.
Trouble is, some of the character really are shit! I mean, the drow who are supposed to be really tough are crap. It looks like 5 year olds designed them! I have modded a few of the main characters to toughen them up. A level 10 drow fighter was getting its arse kicked royally by a bloody level 8 fighter/thief for god sake!

Forget spell resistance- 2nd Ed poison rules were what you had to worry about when dealing with drow.

2nd edition had rules?? They're more like... guidelines, than actual rules. I dunno, I heard that once.

2nd ed was ace. You really could kill 20th level characters with Kobolds. In 3.5, that would be unbelievable unless they had like epic levels. Yeah, TTC right about the drow poison, in 3.5, its a bit crap. Any frickin Wizard can pass the DC15 save. Now get even a 10th level Wizard to make a saving throw versus Poison and he'll be quaking in his boots

You can still kill 20th-level characters with kobolds, you just have to be a really clever bastard.

You can still kill 20th-level characters with kobolds, you just have to be a really clever bastard. Or give the kobolds class levels: "The hooded kobold polymorphs you into a dire chihuahua."

That's the easy way out. The hard, but ultimately more satisfying way is to think of kobolds as the Viet Cong.
By the way, are we still waiting for someone?

By the way, are we still waiting for someone? Yah, the DM. No, I'm sure there's more than that, but I can't help razzing another of my fellows for doing exactly what I do sometimes. Not posting is much easier than actually posting.

Fangor, we need Fangor. I'm sure he'll play but he seems snowed under at the moment. I'm just waiting for a PM back from him. I'll try and get a game post up tonight or tomorrow.

Uh, I don't know about my guy and all. I am going to be packing up and moving back to houston from now until Jan, so my time might be a little pressed. To not be a hinderance to the other players, I think I might have to bow out of this campaign. I really wish I could, but I know there would be times when I can't post, and I don't want it to hurt the rest.
Thanks, Fangor

Good luck with that mate. Mal can bow out and come back later if you fancy picking him up in the new year.

Yeah, if he can come back, in Jan would be best. Thanks for understanding.
