Gabe nods at the "Thanks for the help stranger" and then turns grinning as Sanem rushes back past him "Nice work there Sanem, careful with that last one, we don't know if there are any other surprises still down that way."
OOC: Does Gabe still have one Inspiring Word remaining? I see that he used one on Harknail and that he has also used his Warlord's Favor, was there a second Inspiring Word in there somewhere?

As the goblin tries to shoot Bharash a second time Bharash brings his staff round to try and counter the shot. Staff of Defense. Interrupt, gives +3 AC against succesful attack. Forgot to try it the first time I was hitFrom the sounds behind him the other crossbow wielding goblin had succumbed to another of Gabes orchestrated attacks so Bharash concentrates on trying to stop the southern one from getting away with shooting him. Bharash extends his arm toward the center of the room and makes a cupping gesture. A spectral hand mimicing his gesture appears picking up the glowing stone lying at G5 and carries it to H10. Mage Hand as minor action Bharash then scoots around behind Sanem to G4 and fires a ray of frost at red 6 [dice=20] +3= against fort
If hit [dice=6] +3 ice damage and slowed for turn

Never mind. I thought it was Doran's turn, but his target is dead. Can we rest yet? I need to use three healing surges.[rand=2854863371660403226895333701251151398689615547673622058461212614766]

OOC: We all posting at the same time so it pretty much is Doran's turn anytime you want it to be even though you'd have to be quick to get past that light footed Elf who seems to be killing all the goblins. But yes by initiative order the only one who hasn't jumped the queue on you so far is Harknail and me.
OOC: As for spending healing surges, do you have a house rule on using encounter healing powers out of combat? Or do you play it so Gabe can give bonus 1d6 twice every five minutes using his Inspiring Word ability?8

Bharash avoided the goblins shots (note to self, start recording monster rolls), but he wasn't able to freeze the goblin either.

He used both Inspiring Words on Harknail, who went down twice. Also Harknail has used both of his Lay on Hands uses for the day. However, more healing is just around the corner....

But yes by initiative order the only one who hasn't jumped the queue on you so far is Harknail and me. Correct. To minimize actions that need to be redone based on changing circumstances I'm running it as alternating Monster Turn, Player Turn, with initiative being used only as a guideline. Gabe's boosts are an exception, they will only boost a character for their next turn, even if they take two turns before Gabe goes again. When starting new combats, only the players that roll higher than the monsters go in the first player turn. OOC: As for spending healing surges, do you have a house rule on using encounter healing powers out of combat? Or do you play it so Gabe can give bonus 1d6 twice every five minutes using his Inspiring Word ability?8 I'm fine with encounter powers being used out of combat. The group can spend extra time for more efficient healing using fewer surges. Likewise, you can use powers to blast the scenery if you like (for example, using a cold blast on an out of control fire to shrink it).

From the passageway leading to the boats comes the sound of more footsteps. Thursagan knows that this is Howahkan, who paused long enough to tie the boat they had used to follow Bharash. Howahkan was the only survivor of those who stayed behind to fight the zombies, and even he wouldn't have survived if it hadn't been for the timely arrival of Thursagan.

Thursagan shouts: "Howahkan, if you don't hurry up you are going to miss all the fun!"

Bharashs ears prick up at the mention of the name Howahkan. He had lost track of the strange tribal priest during the fight at the lighthouse and assumed the sheer quantity of undead there would be too much. He must have somehow survived and even found a dwarf to help them. He was obviously a resourceful fellow.

I think the last goblin is in the dark, so he will be hard to hit. Doran will dog his way over to H5 and chuck that shuriken. [dice=20]+7[dice=6]+5 Infective, even if he didn't have cover. AC 13 for 10.[rand=28544972339145047511239517325356384742373133900958012441463378611]

Harknail advances (to H10) on the retreating goblin (red 6). He issues a divine challenge and attempts a holy strike. [dice=20] | +6 = 23 vs. AC | [dice=8] | +3+2= 11 damage |
Harknail gets a good solid hit, but does not bloody the goblin. [rand=8650874462909997524716583080589891161594167351725291388412006199]

The last remaining goblin shifts away from Harknail (to H12) then retreats behind the portcullis (to H14). As he skids under the only partially raised portcullis, he deliberately triggers the release to send the portcullis crashing to the ground behind him. The goblin is now prone and behind a lowered portcullis, making him a difficult target for either melee or ranged attacks.
OOC: I'm saying that melee attacks though the portcullis get -2 for partial cover due to the difficulty with shifting weapons to hit a moving target. Ranged weapons are unaffected by the portcullis, but get -2 for the goblin being prone. Note that being prone grants combat advantage to melee attacks, so the penalty for the portcullis is canceled out by being prone.

Readying his bow for a Twin Strike, Sanem quickly moves to G9 declaring the last remaining Goblin his Quarry and releases the arrows in quick succession. Arrow 1 against Red 6: [dice=20] +4 (-2 for prone target) Arrow 2 against Red 6: [dice=20] +4 (-2 for prone target) Damage arrow 1 (if hit): [dice=10] +4 Damage arrow 2 (if hit): [dice=10] +4 Damage Hunters Quarry: [dice=6] 8[rand=2867017274497146788154309137713086581427574115973718903765029132]
