So I don't usually post much on the Get to Know You type areas, but I thought since I've been posting here a bit, I thought to post an life update just to fill people in on what's going on in my life.
Anyways, as I posted before my fiancee is pregnant, now she's about thirty eight and a half weeks along. On Sunday morning, about two o'clock in the morning, she went into labor. Was a little frightening and exciting at the same time. This is our first child so I really didn't know what to expect. So after my initial wave of panic I rushed her to the hospital. After about 7 hours in the hopsital hooked up to monitors getting information on contractions and the babies heart beat we were told that she was in false labor.
So no, my boy is not born yet. However, considering how far along she is and the fact that she is having false labor it's only a matter of time before he does pop out into the world. So I guess my news is that shortly I will be a father, and of course, I'll keep the boards updated when he finally is born.
Now, most of my updates are done while I'm at work. I have free time there, I know, lucky. However, I will be taking two weeks off of work when he my son is born. Don't fret, I do plan to keep up with the games and not disappear for two weeks. However, my attendance on the boards will be much less frequent during those two weeks, as you probably can guess he will take precedence.
Just wanted to give everyone a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up and, again, congrats. Keep us posted! No worries if you wind up more busy than you expect in those two weeks. We'll understand. We might make mocking jokes about changing diapers and stuff, but we'll understand.

No worries if you wind up more busy than you expect in those two weeks. We'll understand. Not if. When. Get rested up, Jolith. A new baby (especially the first) is a helluva ride!!!!

Yeah, congrats, and get rested up. I bet creating and raising a baby is much harder work than with a D&D character.

Yeah, congrats, and get rested up. I bet creating and raising a baby is much harder work than with a D&D character. I think creating the baby was the fun part for him. Let us know when the baby is born (but no hot pics of that process please), and best of wishes that everything goes well.

Newborn babies are maybe the most precious and joy-giving things on earth. I wish the mother easy-labor, the baby a healthy life, and both parents patience on the sleepless nights to come. =)

Another scare ... another post.
Once again my fiancee went into false labor. I can't tell you how much it sucks to think your son is going to show up, just to have the rug pulled out from under you.
Arrrghh ...
Anyways, I'll let you know if anything else happens.

So, last night we went to the hospital because she was having contractions every 3 minutes. We get to the hospital and they sent us home after about 30 minutes saying she wasn't in labor yet, just having contractions.
On the way home she starts having horrible contractions. When we get home we call the 'Nurse Hotline' for advice, since we didn't want to make another useless trek to the hospital just to be sent home. Well, the nurse tells us to go to the hospital, but says she will call me back after talking to the doctor we just say about an hour and a half ago.
One the way to the hospital, the nurse calls back and tells me the doctor thinks we should just go home as they don't think she is in labor considering they just checked on her.
Well, I decide we should continue on anyways, because she's in a LOT of pain.
All said and done, my son Lucas Gabriel was born this morning at 5:34 EST. He is 8 lbs 13 oz and 22.5 inches tall.

Congratulations, Jolith!!!! Hold on to those instincts, 'cause that and your judgement are what you'll rely on-- kids don't come with an instruction manual. Unless I lost the ones my kids came with! Get ready to live, man!!!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that you get a manual, but it gets lost under all of the laundry, bottles, and toys.
You won't find it again 'til they turn eighteen and it's too late.

Just to let you all know I'm finally back to the mundane routine of work. All in all these last two weeks have been amazing. The little guy is doing well and really healthy so I can't complain.
Now that I'm back at work though, my posting should become more steady once again. Mainly because while I was at home my computer become extremely infected with Malware and forced me to format. While not that horrible, it became tedious and annoying as I had to do it multiple times not realizing that one of the programs I was loading back onto my computer was indeed the culprit of the infection.
