Hey I'm new to the boards but I was wondering if/how I can join the CoC game here.

Will, Welcome to the boards and as for joining the CoC Game, we'll have to work something out. I've already lost one player that I'm in the process of replacing, and I'm threatened by the loss of a second. I'd like to see about working someone else in. Send me a private message and we'll get started from there. Regards, KMan PS - As a side note...what is it with CoC players? Is no one having fun with this thing?

I am...maybe they just want to brag about how they survived a CoC campaign, while neglecting that they dropped out ;D

I've survived all but one compaign, and that one I died a spectacular death. Sure I was in two pieces, and got thrown from the top of a plateau. But it was worth it. I made a dent in a monster that was supposed to be very difficult to hurt. Maybe you've just unusually crude GMs. <shrugs>

*Tee hee*....Damn that was funny. I forget the name of the module but basically it took place in a desert and there was a film crew working on filming a movie out there, (During the 20's-30's I think), and of course the director went mad when he developed a lens that could see these "Spectral Hunters" when used on a camera. To skip a few paragraphs, Japic's character climbs to the top of the plateau and feels "strange, invisible brushings, like something he can't see is touching him." Japic puts a lens to his eyes and sees that he's surrounded by Spectral Hunters. I think that's where the whole "California Human!!" thing came into play too. Regardless, the hunters tear him in twain and throw his halves down to the rest of the party that was waiting for him to give the all clear. Freakin' Hilarious from the GM standpoint...

I on the other hand have never had a character live; perhaps that is why I am reluctant to play. School is winding down though and after Wednesday I should be able to have some free time. I you need another player let me know I’ve been lurking and thing I can find a way to fit in and then die some horrible and frustrating death.

In my own Defense here: These things only turned visible/tangible when they are attacking something, ie., ME. So I, with no lense, only see these things attacking me. The dice gods were with me for a few minutes, and I was dodging fatal blows, dealing a couple of hits, and I may, may, have managed to kill one with my combat knife. It's been way too long to remember the specifics, but I know that the gods were with me for a minute, then they left. Needless to say, so did my character's lifeblood.
To this day, that particular encounter reminds me of Riddic in Pitch Black when he cut that monster up with just a knife. "He did not know who he was fucking with!" Aah, the good ol days.

Actually, I'll admit to being interested in the CoC game, but now (a week before Christmas) is probably a bad time to join. My wife is jealous enough of the time I spend with my computer, I don't have to add "during a holiday" to the list.

John - about joining. If you notice, I started the background of a character that I THOUGHT was going to join...so I had planned on having one more. Since you were the first to express an interest in it...I'll let you take it. We can work on your background like I did the others...through PMing on the boards, then you'll join at the appropriate time. I know you're busy with Christmas and all, but if you want to, I'll do my best to make it happen and consider Willow a lost cause. My main fear is that a new player will back out...I hate that. As long as you have the will to play, we're all good.
