But he's dead... And cloned....but the clone never made it... I'm confused. I'm going to go back to my LotR world and let Legolas take care of everything...including that pesky pointed hat spell-casting dude. Good for you Thrawn, now...anyone care to explain what Expanded Universe is? (In brief detail?) I never read the Star Wars books.

Gee, what kind of self-respecting D&D player doesn't know the all the minute details of Star Wars? j/k The Expanded Universe (EU) refers to all the events that take place in the Star Wars books and other media, basically the non-movie parts. Grand Admiral Thrawn was an Imperial Warlord who came close to defeating the New Republic (what the Rebels turned into) about 5 years after the Battle of Endor. He was, as my sig suggests, the greatest tactical mind ever in the Empire or the NR. If he hadn't been assasinated by a treacherous pile of *bleep* who was his bodyguard he would've conquered the galaxy. He basically was a bad-@ss mother who took names. And of course, he's my favorite character. ;D

Aah. Well that clears some things up. I've never read the books, and I don't think I ever want to. I'm much more into the fantasy realm than I am to sci-fi. I much prefer for the world of Star Wars to be painted out on the movie screen. I don't love the world enough to care about Lucas raping the idea that old school fans came to love before Episode One ruined it. So the screen is fine by me. That's as far as I'll ever go with Star Wars.
Oh yeah, one more thing; if Star Wars, was more like Space Balls. I'd love it much more.

Gee, I feel the same way but replace Star Wars with Lord of The Rings, and George Lucas with Peter Jackson.
;D
Oh, and if Lord of The Rings was more like Robin Hood: Men in Tights...I like it more.

Just wanted to make sure my point wasn't lost in the LotR discussion... Thrawn is the Man!

Just to be argumentative I would like to disagree. While taking down the know universe is quite impressive let us remember it was a war torn universe that was struggling to rebuild its self. I would make the point that the greater mind was that of Emperor Palpitien. To infiltrate the system usurp the power of the Republic, over throw a strong and heavily entrenched senate, then use the Jedi to raise an army, and lastly find and corrupt what would be one of the greatest Jedi to destroy the order. That is some skill. Oh, and one more thing if it weren’t for his “body guard” turning against him the empire would still be in his control.

Ok...dude, like it was hard to do this. Emperor Palpatine had it all laid out for him.
- Get into power...anyone with a big checkbook can do this.
- Usurp the "entrenched" senate. Hard to do when someone hands their power to Jar Jar Brinks. I've seen monkeys fucking footballs that were more intelligent.
- Raise a clone army...work at Xerox for a few months and make the "inside" connections. Most Master in Business graduates know this trick.
- Find "The One prophesized to bring balance to The Force." Imagine a force-sensitive Emperor walking around...
Gotta find the one.....
Gotta find the one....
Gotta find the HOLY SHIT WHAT IS THIS HEADACHE I HAVE FROM THIS LITTLE FORCED-TUNED WHINY SHIT IN FRONT OF ME!!!!!
Could he be the one?...hhhmmmm....
- Corrupt the Whiny Shit mentioned above. Not hard to do: Let him stay up late and watch "Max Rebo's Talk Show" with a bowl of candied Wampa anuses...if that fails, point out "Uncle Obi" and his "Happy-Spot tickling" to the nearest Social Services worker...gain custody.
- Let the rest fall into place like dominoe's...according to "The Prophecy".
I have to side with Thrawn on this one...he's the man. Just cause I like to argue too...

The bodyguard thought is well taken. Perhaps Zahn was going for a parallel?
I base my argument for Thrawn>Palpatine on sheer dogma. Thrawn is the man; therefore, Thrawn is the man.
