I decided to go with the rogue - Rolan. The Barbarian was tempting, but I think the rogue will be closer to my play-style.
I'd really like to have a ballista, but I don't really have the strength to lug one around, and I am not confident enough in my ability to keep it hidden. Plus it might be a bit more than I can afford... but the moment I see one in combat, I will try to sneak attack with it, even if I have to get the cleric to move it for me.

A priest, a thief, an elf, and her dog. Seems about right for a dnd party.

As for "Private Old Guard," I don't think there will be a problem with having a fourth member. The only thing we don't cover (I think) is arcane spell casting, but with a cleric and a druid, we'll probably be fine on magic, and we have melee and ranged, so really you can play what you would like to I think.

I think a 4th member would be great :-)

It's been a while. Glad to see that some of those messages in a bottle finally made it. Good to have you on board, feel free to pick anything from the SRD but Psionics. I think the party could use some arcane blasty magic or maybe another fighter type. Of course those are just guidlines rather than rules anyways. ;D

Though I'm not sure that you would know Draconic, I could see you picking up a enough words to have the most basic of conversations from a Hollow Exile(they often find jobs in Burr Town as shop guards).

god darnit had my character basically done when i hit the wrong key and lost it all. oh well will finish it later, am too tired to redo it all right now. But my character is a Blaster type... but he comes with a brute... ok a minion actually... a dead one.... I am playing (or hopeing to) a Necromancer with the Skeleton Minion Variant. Yes yes yes i know that we have to be good aligned (sigh ) He is actually Chaotic Good, sometimes you cant let morals get in the way of the greater good!

Neutrals are perfectly fine with me. A Chaotic Neutral wizard type pushing the boundaries of ethical magic for powers sake sounds perfectly fine for me. I'd imagine your guy would want to check out the Fell and what it is that causes such decay... Good Luck trying to explain that to the Lizardmen though. Precisely why you need a party! which would explain why you were in an inn in the middle of podunk nowhere to begin with.

That's every last penny of your starting cash to summon the (unarmed) minion and buy a spellbook and spellpouch - no wonder your guy is looking for work :p

Rolan did grow up in the area, so I was hoping it would be possible. If you feel that it isn't, I can swap it out for something else (preferably another language used by locals).

Have you figured out yet which forum we are going to be using for in character threads? I was thinking of posting the druid walking into town for the first time, but I don't know where to post it…

I actually managed to get in touch with a mod, I'm just waiting for them set us up our own boards. I'm hoping that will be sooner rather than later. I'll keep you posted.

Assuming we are all starting in Clearwater - perhaps you could post something brief about recent events and conditions in readyness for the game. Is it summer/winter, any holidays or events forthcoming, news on the wind. That kind of thing.

Thanks for the note. I've moved Vadania over, expanding her skill list to include useable untrained skills.

Now that I have a place to post it, I've posted the Vadania enters town for the first time thread here. It continues where her background left off. I don't know if the adventure will be starting when we first meet, or if we will have know each other for a while. My inclination is that we're first meeting when something happens and the action pulls us together as a team.

Ah-ha! So this is where all the information is!
If you're willing to have another I'd love to join in. I've played with Namklim and Harknail before face-to-face (HELLO AGAIN HARKNAIL). I'm thinking of playing a barbarian (and by 'thinking' I mean 'already spent my free time today rolling a character').
Do you mind not exactly optimized characters? Charisma didn't exactly receive the dump stat treatment...
