ooc: I play games to play with my freinds, but killing a drake that I wanted to help and in fact need to be able to keep up with that faster party members feels like being stabbed in the back - If I can't trust my party what's the point in playing.

That's a good point, someone should tie up that drake before it wakes up. What skill would I use for "use rope"?That would be Thievery (I just checked). But you won't need to worry about it till the fight is over, it won't be waking up that fast.
And in situations like this it's quite appropriate for those characters who care to call out "I wanted it alive", "don't kill the others", or things like that. It's quite alright for your characters to be upset about drakes being killed.Okay thanks, if it's Thievery, I will not being using much rope this campaign.

that far, but I still understand Davids actions and how he feels, It was partly for not being more vocal on my part, and i do take that on myself to keep that in mind for later events. Joe with all of this going on I think my constructs attack of opp was over looked it would be marked. on my next turn if it is marked it takes 4 damage do to a ability my construct has. If he missed then I can do a Immediate Interrupt on his miss and summon Phantasmal Henchman in L 12. so the wizard need not cast shield if my construct misses.

No, I didn't over look it, Drake #3 did a shift (5 foot step) and thus didn't provoke an attack of op.
Signing off for the night for face-to-face d&d

Dart looks at the surviving drakes - realizing the only chance they may have is if he trys again, Dart charges to the drakes defense. warlock curse on Tol, he refrains from using eyebite but does use the paladin defense on Harknail. I'll use my self heal in case Tol attacks anything else. Let me know which rolls I need to make. ooc: Darts intent is stop the killings cold, anyone trying to protect the drakes he'll help.

Llewelyn quickly moves from his position (to H-11), observing the nearby drake (hunter's quarry on 3). He then grabs another couple of arrows and fires, though not going for the kill as requested.

just a question Joe, can it shift on to difficult terrain. Or is it that u can't shift if you are in difficult terrain? I only ask because i read in the book but i can't find it. i think it was in the DMG or players.

I missed that because it was so large, but the rule still applies. I'll go back and add you're constructs opportunity attack damage.

Ok guys there is alot of problems here with a drake dieing or not and whether some players wish to quit. I dont think they should remove themselves from the group all together. This is the beginning of understanding eachother. You started out thinking Harknail was the vicious one, but now it appears Tol is, this is character growth. And we must act our characters out as they would, not just to work the party perfectly. My character has no problems killing things... so long as it is in effort to protect someone, do i think killing this drake was unneccesary, yes, but it doesn't mean that my character will refuse to work with someone. Perhaps the reason you stick with this group is to prevent Tol, or myself, from killing another 'innocent.' There will be reasons, but first and foremost you have to decide whether you as a player are honestly interested in this campaign enough to deal with inter-party strife. The best campaigns half the time have player characters at eachothers throats because of their ideals, Paladin vs Rogue for example, but it doesn't have to actually cause problems for the game, it can just add more flavor and reality to the game. Please figure out how your character would deal with this situation and join us and have fun with it, this campaign already looks to be exceedingly interesting, i dont want to lose any of you. But i will not back down in what i believe in, that a player must play their character how that character would be, no matter what the repercussions.
RojitoRomra smiles as the drakes attack missed. Until his glimpsed the other one behind him, then he let out a chuckle. "Bring it dragon bait, I am not an easy meal!" Remembering that they are not attempting to kill these near-mindless beasts Romra this time aims on non-vital areas. Earth Shield Strike! aaaugh! Suprised by the drake's sudden attack Barbatos threw up his arms and screamed out, a shimmering barrier of force deflecting the drakes attack and physically lifting it from it's feet, hurling it backwards into barn before a second thundercrack blew it clean through sending the animals within scurrying out into the yard.
The mage is briefly stunned by the power of his own magic as leaves and debris rain down around him, but the screeching of the drakes nearby snaps him back to his senses and he staggers backwards, seeking cover behind the others.
Interrupt - shield (hopefully no damage from the drake's attack)
Thunderwave L12 (catching m12, l13-14, etc - missing allies) [dice=20]+7 vs fort [dice=6]+6 thunder damage (plus whatever a 20 gets me - I think the orb of nimble thoughts may grant something on a critical too) -pushes drake back towards the construct
Action point, thunderwave [dice=20]+10 vs fort (action surge) [dice=6]+6 thunder damage
Move to N6
ooc- woo, 20. If it drops the Drake then Barbatos is opting to knock it senseless.[rand=9895233940301964849211518676469566497766318423177256724527343892]

killing a drake that I wanted to help (etc) feels like being stabbed in the back - If I can't trust my party what's the point in playing. Keep in mind that nobody here knows dart beyond his recent actions, and his first action upon meeting the drakes was to blast one - not a regular blast either, the combination of eyebite and challenge would have hidden Dart, making it appear to the drake that someone else had attacked, causing one of your companions to suffer the drake's fury (Tol in this case) and wounding the drake once again into the bargain.
You've also doubled up on your actions - are you moving or attacking Tol/Harknail this turn?

Seeing the second drake fall snaps Stria from her anger driven trance
No, don't kill them you fool!(she is yelling at Tol)
Knock them out and restrain them! They just seem to be hungry, not out for blood!
She curses number 3, and fires an eldritch blast at one of its hind legs, to stiffle its movements.
[dice=20] +7 +1(From her pact)= 11 vs. Reflex.
[dice=10] + [dice=6] +6 = 12

Dart is casting warlock curse on Tol and divine challenge on harknail and running past Harknail. Harknail can easily intercept Dart and Dart knows it. All of which doesn't not harm them if they don't attack the drakes. warlocks curse only harms Tol if he does harm the drakes - and divine challenge only hurts Harknail if he attacks the drakes instead of Dart. Dart's giving him a choice. But it is entirely up to them if they want to attack Dart because of it. If anyone does hit Dart he disappears improving his AC.

Youwere talking about trusting the group earlier, when we aren't yet a group, just random individuals with different goals. Some are agreeing with you (there is a live unconscious drake), some aren't (there is also a dead drake). You are treating Tol as an enemy (cursing is something that is only done with enemies). Harknail has yet to hit a drake at all and has agreed (an hour ago in the previous thread) not to attack any drake that is eating Dart, yet you are challenging him to a duel (I see divine challenge as "You. Me. Here. Now.") in the middle of a fight. In doing these actions you are identifying yourself as an enemy. Your character should know this. This will have consequences. So I'm going to ask, are you SURE you want to do this?

ooc: Dart doesn't want to do this, he's just not being given any choice. Basically he sees it as a case of mutually ensured destruction. He'll just drop the warlocks curse and divine challenge should Tol and Harknail refrain from trying to kill the drakes or promise to. Remember he said from the beginning he'd defend the drakes from Harknail should Harknail try to kill the drakes. One drakes dead. Ones captured - three to go. Dart could of attacked Harknail - he didn't - at least he did no harm and well do no harm if Harknail does not attack the drakes - it's a lot like telling someone they are under citizens arrest. It happen to my foster parent when I was a boy. My brother was taken from my foster parent and the citizen called the police, they retrieved my brother and returned my brother to the foster home. But how many people know what citizen arrest really means? It scared the hell out of my foster parent. I don't and I've encountered it in the real world. (And I know more then most people do. For instance taking my brother was kidnapping even though no one was a where of it at the time until the police informed us when they broth my brother home. )” A equal reaction of course would be for Harknail to cast divine challenge on Dart. Then if either of them attacks a drake they take damage. Mutual destruction - just like our country deals with our countries with our nuclear weapons. Nations apparently don’t consider it an attack.

Tol's Post ooc:warlocks curse only deals damage when you hit the cursed target, and then only 1 per round. i personal do not have any problems with whats going on, or the fact of not killing the drake, but In Character we did not agree to spare them, especially after Dart led the attack on the drakes. (not sure if i should do an arcana check, but i kinda figured i recognized the use of Eyebite since it was a warlock spell, and does deal damage and cause you to be invisible to the target until the start of your next turn.) Also nearly nothing about what we are doing have been worked out, like was mention there was no leader, so our capabilities, and our 'group' plan have not been set.
randomly, Im not on the map for some reason. D:
Tol stalks towards the other yard prepared to unleash the extra energy from the drained soul when he hears Stria yell out about not killing them. "Really? like they would give us the same mercy, but fine..." grumbles quietly as he acquiesces to the request. He feels the curse get placed on him, and looks over as Darts makes the challenge to the Warforged. Finishing my move at g12 i turn towards Darts "I see we are having some problems Mr. Balance. As far as i can see these farmers were living in balance with the land until the drakes intruded...." a small realization dawns on my barely living brain. "Or is this something more personal to you? I see you have singled out the Construct and the Zombie. Do you have so much Hatred against what doesn't naturally appear that you would try to turn us into the villains when we are surrounded by drakes!" i flick my sword again when i say drake letting the necrotic energy i took up on killing the drake dissolve into the ground. The light slowly abates during this short rant as my thoughts have turned away from the drakes.

The reason we do not know what we are doing is because Harknail abruptly ended the conversation and took off to kill drakes before we had agreed on what we were doing. I don't know if that was a roleplay decision or a GM decision, but that is ultimately why we are going in two directions.
Cursing people is an attack regardless of what happened in the cold war.
As I understand my position, Tol is an implement of my god, therefore by cursing him, David, you are inciting my character to attack you as well.
OOC this may make sense, but in character I think Dart is only turning those of us who were trying not to harm the drakes against the idea.

Dark drops the curses after using them. He's made his point. ooc: Dark goal was to get both Tol and Harknail to think before they acted. He's done that. Now it time to focus on the real problem.
