( if in rounds) : "Aelos our friends looks in bad shape as am I for i don't feel good. i don't know how long i can keep this up. it is up to the two of you, i don't like taking orders but right now i am in no condition to argue."

The horse is the only animal in the barn. Ka'lion kneels down amongst the straw and begins to nurse a small fire. Within the inn the group pauses to discuss their next move, is the mage helpless or simply waiting... ? No need to follow init until you act again. (Aelos has 4 1st level spells and the augment healing feat - he can patch you up in a couple of rounds, though Namklin hasn't logged on for a week - does someone want to take over healing duties from him briefly?)You apply str bonus to thrown weapons or there is no point in even using them. Dex to the attack roll, Str to the damage roll - see the rules for basic stats in the phb

Then why buy a strength bow? For damage only? You apply a either or roll. But if this is the case. Ka'lion was built wrong. Oh will, he'll die soon enough. Setting fire to the straw and any oil lamps in the barn - which a barn should have should set fire to the place reasonably quickly. Once he set fire to the inside he'll carry a torch outside and set fire to all doors and windows.

Sorry about that again, life took an unexpected turn recently and have been busy fixing it. (Nothing major, but had to do some moving and coordinating with my school in order to graduate)
Aelos stands, and rushes to the Druid's aid. (Assuming I've made it to the edge and can stand, but if you want, here's a reflex save) [dice=20]+0 Reflex
Chanting some words on the way, Vadania begins to feel somewhat better. [dice=08]+3 HP restored.[rand=6202073037894372411627610246571736358988643076947916898363129303]

(you can all act freely until you decide to head upstairs - if you take other actions which would require a significant period of time, or after a couple of days, i'll post the mage's next action)Then why buy a strength bow? For damage only? Yes... though you do apply strength penalties to your rolls to hit with bows and composite bows have additional penalties. The brutal throw feat lets you add strength rather than dex to thrown attacks and has no pre-reqs, if you want to swap an existing feat for it.
Alternatively have a new character ready before the group reaches the crypts and Ka'lion can bow out with Navarre - make a thread in the out of game discussion forum if you want

Ka'lion was designed to change classes. Druid next and I'll pick up a straight bow. I'll see if that fixes the problem.

They don't look in too good of shape either." While Aelos is healing, Vadania counts the berries she enchanted earlier that morning. It looks like they could use them now! After Ka'lion has set the barn on fire he'll head over to see if the others need assistance. But he'll keep an eye on the closed barn door while he's doing it.

After Ka'lion has set the barn on fire he'll head over to see if the others need assistance. Ka'lion manages to get a small fire going and begins to spread the blaze to straw around the barn, but the barn itself is going to take longer to deal with and it's more than likely the group will arrive to investigate the smoke long before Ka'lion can be satisfied with his work. (Harknail - do you want to eat those berries? Spread them around?)

Ka'lion will just finish his work and lock the barn and wait for the others to join him. Once the fires started he has little need to remain inside and smoke just might distract the wizard.

Vadania will distribute the berries to those in the room. They don't heal much but every little bit helps. She waits for everyone to be healed before suggesting, "Ready to try the stairs again?"

Vadania passed a pair of berries to Nillfree and fed the rest to Ylva. The gnome nodded in appreciation, listening for any sign of movement or spellcraft from above.
In the barn Ka'lion forced himself to calm down, carefully placing the straw around the horse - even if the fire did not take the smoke would likely kill it.
His armour weighing on him heavily the barbarian turned to leave lest he also be overcome by smoke but then spun back as he heard a thud behind him - the axe thrown earlier lay on the ground and the horse in which is was embedded was gone!
Running outside, as best as he could manage in his tired state, he looked over towards the inn to see some kind of knight resplendant in plate armour atop the same horse standing just behind the inn. The knight gave one long look towards Ka'lion before prompting his horse into a gallop away and out of the village.
Ka'lion fumbles for an axe unsure if this new individual is friend, foe, or illusion. As he does he feels a terrible chill spread across his back as the shadowy form of a bird nearly knocks him off his feet - the raven he had seem watching him earlier which flickers like a shadow in candlelight as it wheels away and pursues the knight.
Inside the inn both Nillfree and Vadania could hear the horse pass - could it be that the mage had snuck out a window and escaped to the barn?
[Effectively end of combat, barring potshots - everyone can act freely]
Ka'lion takes 3 damage (negative energy) and must make a DC14 fortitude save or suffer 1 point of temporary strength damage. Nillfree and Ylva regain 2 hp each

Ka'lion fort [dice=20] +2 Ka'lion removes the armor and chucks it into the fire, leaves the rope and checks on the others reporting what happened in the barn and in the church. All of it. "Let's move. we have some running to do. We need to move faster then a magic horse moves. Does anyone need a ride?" asked Ka'lion looking at the gnome.[rand=08924315404146910154825237113982440542946103960275656975027769804001]

The chill of the Raven's magic further compounds Ka'lions fatigue, though he knew he could shake it off with a little rest. As he passes Maester Belomme the wizard can do little more but wave his arms exasparated and exclaim "are you mad!?"
He finds Aelos at the entrance to the inn, the cleric pleased to find that the magic protecting the entrance has dissipated. Inside Nillfree is poking at the webbed stairway with a broom though no-one has yet braved the upper level lest the mage, or some trap, yet remained above.
(The armour is metal plate riveted inside a canvas jack. It's worn over light chain which you may keep if you wish - it's less protective than a full chain shirt but still provides an AC bonus of 3 - treat as studded leather)

Ka'lion keeps the chain but I need the chains weight. "No, I'm not mad, just determined not to give an enemy a head start or a good nights rest. That fight was a draw and he cheated. I have no intention of giving him another full load of spell or all we will be doing is get beaten on until we die. The divine healers don't need to sleep to recover their spells. Their spells are gifts of their gods. So we can track this monster and put an end to him. If I had it my way - we'd all have fresh magical horses and sleep in the saddle. These people did not deserve what happened to them and I'm not giving their killer any rest!"

The gnome does not look at him and ignores him. he was not going on a full-hearty mission on chasing something that had a head start and was faster then most of them. to top it off it was a magic user. there was no telling what he had. he may be able to hide tracks and make it go faster for all he know. there was no point in chasing, and he was done being told what to do, He does not deal with someone who abandoned him, who insults him and treats him like crap. what the barrbarian did in this fight felt like a knife in the back, and now he was giving orders. screw that he thought. He was not going to be around that person any longer( the barbarian). at this point it is clear Nillfree does not like, respect or even wish to interact with the barbarian. if it is not he makes it apparent now for the rest of the party to see. If the barbarian wanted to go off and case a powerful caster let him. The gnome was not going to chase the wizard no matter what he was told or asked at this point. The wizard had won not only with skill, but he was one wizard and used the battlefield to his advantage. Had everyone just let Nillfree do what he was good at maybe things could have been different but there was no changing that now. Turning to his friends. "If he was helping the demon then yes you should go after him, but there was no evidence that was turned up that led to that. Being the case we don't even know if the demon is behind this. we need more info and to get it we need to go to the location we were hired for. I am protecting the caster in that mission. If he wished to no longer take on that mission i am done with my contract. If that is the case i will not be going with you if you wish to chase the wizard. It is the mission in seeing about if a demon is back or not. it is the only mission that i will do for that is the one i am paid to do and i don't back out on my contrats but if you force me to try and fallow this wizard, it will not be a hard choice to walk away for you all would have braked the contract not me. Sorcerer i feel it best to rest hear. about the dead i feel like we should bury them. nods to the cleric and druid, if the worshipers of gods want to do a ritual i have no objection. i will not be attending for i am not religious but i will pay my respects after they are done. if you wish to leave druid i ask you take a look at a few bits i have. after they bit me i became weaker. I would be happier if you were to look at it for me, if not i understand and i wish you the best. just don't let the barbarian's actions get you killed. i can no longer allow myself to let him be around me. If you wish to chase the wizard i don't hold it against you, i wish you the best. I have a wife and kids that need me i can't help them if i am dead. If i continue alongside the barbarian i feel his actions will get me killed and this i can't let happen."

Vadania comments, "I'm not keeping up with a horse. Besides, we have a fire to deal with."
OOC: Did Ka'lion say anything about the fire in the barn?
Vadania goes and looks in the barn to see how bad the fire is. Specifically if it's still small enough to be put out.

"Don't worry about the barn. I set it on fire to kill the horse that would not die before the rider summoned the horse out of the place and road off. The dead have no use for it any longer anyways. There are no survivors here. None. Well, I guess the small ones right. We are getting side tracked. At this point I imagine that's the whole point. Wizard lead on. The only thing we learned here is people don't matter - only the job does." said Ka'lion, "The dead can be burned as will. It's not my first choice. But the small one seems to blame me because I didn't get killed and he nearly did. Truth is we are all hurt and I'm hurt worse then he is and I prefer to keep moving. I don't like the idea of the wizards allies killing us here in our sleep but by a means. Lets give them a chance to do that." Ka'lion picks up a burning blanch or beam or what ever and throws it into the church into all of the stacked stuff through the window he broke." Look guys, I'm just being practical. We move or we don't but if we are being delayed we need to head as soon as possible to the target sites to find out if the demon is free." Ka'lion returns picks up another fire stick and throws it into where the wizard was last seen - after the others get out of the house. "Spirits of the dead. You may not matter to the others. But you do matter to me. I will avenge you as soon as I have fulfilled my contract and bought enough water for the monks that where training me. Personally I think the rest of this group are being selfish and the demons already been freed. Which brings up a question wizard. How did you capture the demon the first time?"

Again sorry, going to be late a lot since Summer Session two is an intensive 6 week course. I am not sure who needs healing most right now, but I'll go ahead and do the roles, and the gm can assign them in order to most injured to least injured. I believe I have 3 first level spells left, but I can't find my notes.[dice=08]+3 [dice=08]+3 [dice=08]+3
"Whatever we decide, we better make the choice fast. My magic is nearly depleted, so if we give chase, we will need a better plan than running around like headless-chickens. The wizard appears strong, but if are better prepared, we can face him, even with his spells. Right now, I am personally more concerned with the possibility of survivors, and curious as to who is on the second floor." Aelos is going to keep his concerns of the demon to himself for now. Stopping is a high priority, but not the highest right now.[rand=8409423569637829970358374543568914409778016089678610647049809755]

"Look I'm tired to. But we have nothing to work with here. We can't out run a mounted enemy. Or one that flies. Unless we have someway to even the odds - the only thing we have is surprise.
Otherwise we have all ready lost and demon is all ready free.
We where not hired to fight the demon if it is free either.
So wizard unless you can summon up or know where we can get horses. We really are wasting time. The divine casters don't need to sleep. The small one that I was offering to give a piggy back ride to has declined my offer. We where hired to get you to the site so lets go.
As far as I'm concerned we don't have time to sleep. That will give us surprise, but we will be useless to you. Divine casters what we need is a few spells that restore tired people to full alertness without sleep. I'm sure such things exists - you should speak to your gods about it. Perhaps they'll even answer." said Ka'lion
