Can you describe Rake? more fully. Basically I want to know if he can pull Ka'lion up. Alone perhaps, with difficulty. He has two others with him though

Though he's not sure if it's the best plan or not, Aelos will help lower Ka'lion into the pit. We have no information, and really need to know what's going on. Hopefully there will be some down there.

At the tavern what does Ka'lion learn? Does he still have his gear? was the tavern filled with undead? Do they get attacked on the way to the temple? Is the temple filled with undead. He's going to need a few torches to be able to see in the pit and he'll want to pick up a dozen of them to keep the pit very well lit.

The group move cautiously through the town, sticking to the wider streets. They find the inn abandoned, Ka'lions possessions still within.
Rake leaves one man to watch the exits while he and the other search room by room with heavy crossbows, taking anything small and valuable from tables and dressers as they do.

After Ka'lion collects his things he looks for torches, lanterns, candles, oil all types and food that is still editable. And bags, tools and other traveling provisions. What does he find?

There isn't much in the way of fresh food - salted meats, biscuits, and other dried rations would not normally be served here but Ka'lion can still scrounge up a bag full of edible food if he didn't mind eating something a little stale.
Candles and oil are stored in the inn and lanterns hang from the walls. No torches, though they could be crafted easily enough.
(remember that Ka'lions rope and other provisions were quite bulky and weighty)

Yes, Ka'lions gear does not prevent him from turning into a wolf and then it weigh nothing. Ka'lionn takes the oil, food two lanterns and makes six torches out of brooms, mops and other junk with long staff length handles.

Vadania watches as the others collect things. She's already carrying as much as she can, so she leaves the collection of bulky things to Ka'lion who seems to enjoy encumbering himself.
She doesn't approve of the others collecting valuables, but she doesn't object out load or try to stop them. Unlike the temple, there is know way to tell if the owners are still alive or if they'll ever return to claim their belongings. The temple is different, at least one priest is still alive and with them.

Leaving the inn the group continues towards the temple, all have a feeling of being watched but nothing stirs in the streets. Rake and his men stay back a few steps allowing the party to lead.
In the morning light the damage to the temple can be seen more clearly, it's walls cracked and blackened from an intense fire from within. The air feels heavier as you approach but the creeping cold that you felt at the other tomb is not present here - at least not anymore than elsewhere in the town.

Ka'lion leads the group into the temple, pulled out a torch of his bundle of torches and lights it. He hands Rake and his men three of the other torches. Then they very quietly look around for bodies, and anything living left behind. They''ll check the pit out latter. Ka'lion does not trust Rake or his men but so far they have done nothing he feels warrant a problem. He'll have a better grasp of thing's after a fight.

"Vadania here, your having the hardest time keeping up with the rest of us." offers Ka'lion the mask Vadania accepts the mask, but stows it for later. It was powerful magic, but it took some time to adapt to it, time they didn't have at the moment. OOC: Not sure I want to add a level of a different kind of druid to Vadania.

Rake declines the torch - he and another hold their crossbows in both hands and hang a small glass and iron lantern from their belts, while the third man carries a larger hooded lantern in one hand and a trident in the other.
There are no bodies in the temple and the fire has gutted the rooms leaving little of value save for a scattering of distorted coins and other metal objects. The door to the vault room remains firmly closed.
One of Rakes men does spot something odd in the main hall however - several bottles of water seemingly untouched by the flames lying in the scorched remains of a lectern. The man quickly scoops them up, though Aelos can see enough of the bottles to know that they would have been used to contain water from the spring to be used for routine blessings and other day to day functions here.

"Crossbows are not going to be of much use against undead." says Ka'lion

Rake looks over "A solid enough hit can stagger them, give you a chance to run. Never know when one might jump out of the shadows", tapping his crossbow, "besides this is no ordinary bow"
Ka'lion notes that the crossbows construction appears unusually heavy with a winch and pulley to draw back the bow, though there is nothing to indicate a magical nature.

"It's a strength crossbow? We will see if we need it. Next stop is the pit." said Ka'lion

Rake isn't sure what Ka'lion is talking about, "a what?"
The descent into the caves under the temple is a cautious one, but they are as silent and deserted as when the group left with one difference - the bodies are gone.
Rake and his men secure two ropes with pitons above the pit and await the groups next move.

" I think the priests might be able to use that to purify another spring," commented Vadania. But it was up to Aelos if he wanted to make an issue of it. If he did, she would back him up.

Ka'lion tosses his torch into the pit, "We now know something hungry down there or the dead are walking. The question is to where? Well we learn nothing up here staring. I'll go first."
