After a short barked conversation, one of the gnolls moves forward to check out the tossed apple. Map (updates as positions change)

"Go!"
Barbatos stepped through the door clearing the way for the others before the Gnoll could retreat, catching him with a blast of ice. He had growing suspicions as to the nature of the defences here and felt sure that the best defence was a quick and decisive offence.
Move to D8 and ray of frost the closest Gnoll [dice=20]+9 vs fort [dice=6]+6 cold damage and slowed[rand=44968424730109992906977593952807581110277204232724632909599491454]

Zem moves to E8,
He is not even making a sound, nor battalion orders. This was Vetch's and Barbados's lead on this one as crazy as it was to do this. To be a good leader you must learn how to fallow, and he knew that very well.

Seeing Zem advance at a slower pace than expected Barbatos shouts out a warning, "run forward or hold back, don't get caught in the open"

Vetch, hearing Barbatos's shout, moves forward to attack the gnolls. He chooses the one closest to the wall and moves towards it, preparing to strike as he goes. He raises his bastard swords and strikes. As he strikes he shouts in orcish, in hopes of adding to the shock and surprise.
Vetch will strike the Gnoll at P-8 using twin strike. I am assuming I can only perform a standard action in this round
1st attack [dice=20] +11 for total of 17
2nd attack [dice=20] +11 for total of 23
Damage: [dice=10] +2 for a total of 7
Damage#2 [dice=10] +2 for a total of 11
Can I use a free action? If so I would like to trigger the Byeshk Sword's dazing effect on the creature if it hits.

(forgot that a surprise round was a single standard action. Barbatos will move and i'll hold the attack over for the next round unless things change, unless the encounter power from the orb of nimble thoughts allows him to shift into position and attack) [dice=20]+5 init[rand=9298709392188922623492597535356674401605532932823279419051287017]

Also he does get a d6 for hunters Q, and +2 on both attacks do to getting combat advantage on them.

I wasn't sure if I could add Hunter's Quarry on a surprise round as he stated only a standard action. Obviously if I could add HQ to it I would

(forgot that a surprise round was a single standard action. Barbatos will move and i'll hold the attack over for the next round unless things change, unless the encounter power from the orb of nimble thoughts allows him to shift into position and attack) +5 init Barbatos can attack from his current position by attacking around the corner. This is not affect Barbatos's attack, but the cover makes counterattacks more difficult. Since he is starting in position to attack the closest Gnoll, I'm resolving this as an attack rather than a move.

Here is the damage roll for Hunters Quarry[dice=6][rand=67816019849851738358201552182436074566300259903076164824347943068]

Barbatos starts the attack with a ray of frost, chilling the Gnoll in slowing him down for a moment.
With the signal given, Vetch appears from nowhere hacking at a very surprised Gnoll. The first swing was deflected by the Gnoll's armor, but the second struck true. a pulse of violet energy from the Byeshk Weapon left of the Gnoll dazed.
Further down the stairs Zem and Harknail did not have targets, so they rushed into the room. Zem being slightly faster got slightly further into the room than Harknail.

The Gnolls must've been more alert than they appeared because they responded immediately to the surprised attack.
Actually, they just rolled very high on initiative, so they go first in the normal round.
The Gnoll nearest the group (#1) forces himself to move towards Zem, takes a swipe at Zem with his claws, then moves away. Zem had no problems at all avoiding the slowed Gnoll.
The Gnoll that had not been attacked dashed out into the main room, then stopped and charged at Vetch. Striking with both hands at once at Vetch's back the Gnoll inflicted serious damage (11+12) leaving Vetch bloodied.
The Gnoll that Vetch had dazed (#3) took a wild swing with one arm and connected with its claws (for 15 damage), leaving Vetch in very bad shape.

Barbatos ignores the closest Gnoll, knowing that Vetch needed help now and that Harknail might well engage it anyway if he could not quickly close the distance to the others.
Moving forward he throws another beam of ice at the distant Gnolls, the group too tightly clustered for anything else.
Move to D5 and target Gnoll 2 with a ray of frost [dice=20]+9 [dice=6]+6 cold damage and slowed
Free action to persist the slowed Gnoll 1 for a turn, keep him from running back to engage Vetch.[rand=764108177376537214961294626221167145358003359163725851480291180273]

Vetch Grunts in pain as he is struck by the blows from the Gnolls. He quickly thinks that his plan didn't quite work the way he wanted.
Vetch's blood boils as he feels himself leaking blood. He howls and feels a rush of adrenaline fill his body, he then focuses on the Gnoll he had struck, trusting to the other party members to handle the one at his back. He furiously attacks with his swords, chopping at the Gnoll.
Vetch, since he is bloodied, gets 5 Temporary HP [Half-Orc Resilience]. He will use his Standard Action to use Second Wind and spend a healing surge for 11 points. He should also get +2 bonus to all defenses until the start of next turn.
Vetch will attack using Ruffling Sting in order to gain combat advantage next round. Attack Roll: [dice=20] +11 for a total of 29
Damage: [dice=10] +6 for a total of 13
Vetch will apply hunter's quarry to this attack [dice=6]
Vetch will also use a free action and use Furious Assault if he hits. Which I believe is simply the weapon, which is 1d10 [dice=10] [rand=8692714577645507185064830885932060657712361699911447436233522530236]

The uninjured Gnoll feels the chill of Barbatos's magic making it hard for him to move.

Would Vetch like to use his move action to shift a square so as to not be directly between the 2 gnolls? Being flanked is granting the Gnolls combat advantage (+2 to hit Vetch). On the other hand, they can't charge again if they start next to Vetch without Vetch getting an attack of opportunity on them. And the one that charged had hit Vetch twice.
