Garrot rushes to Vadanias aid, forcing the wolf to release its grip and spin to face its new attacker with a yelp. Despite its baleful red eyes and shadowy appearance it does not seem to be undead.

Garrot looks a little disturbed that he has gotten the shadow wolf's attention. He begins to circle it in hopes of finding an opportune moment to strike. He hopes it will be distracted enough to let him strike true.

Ka'lion shakes free of both wolves, but they will act again before he does.

Vadania left her bow on the ground, instead she drew her wooden longsword as she stood, then attacked the shadow wolf between her and Ylva. Ylva also attacked the same wolf.

As Ylva provided a distraction Vadania scrambled to her feet and caught the nearest wolf with a solid blow. Wounded but still mobile it yelped and turned away as Ylva tried to follow up, seeming to vanish amongst the shadows.

Nearby the other wolves also turned and ducked into the shadows though Ka'lion was fast enough to wing his as it fled.

The wolves had not gone far however, the sound of their panting and flickers of movement at the edge of the firelight indicated that they were not going to give up on the group so easily.

Garrot looks at the surrounding woods with interest. He laughs and says "That was scary!". He rushes back to the fire and grabs his torch. He says "They seemed to be scary of the fire. maybe we should try and scare them off with it?

"We move our camp into the trees. We can handle them better when we can see them in the morning." said Ka'lion quickly moving back into camp. "How badly are people hurt?"

GM, we would not of set up a fire near any trees but We would have large trees nearby. What's available?"

As per the picture on the previous page, a lot of fairly bare trees. The larger trees will support the weight of a man safely enough but the branches are a different prospect.

OOC aren't we already in amongst the trees? I am not sure moving deeper into the dark woods is a good idea with shadow wolves lurking.

Vadania answers, "We can try to pursue them or we can stay here by the fire, but either way we need to stay together. And I don't think we'll get much sleep tonight."

She continues, "Ka'lion, you might be able to sleep in a tree, but that doesn't work for the rest of us."

Garrot says "chasing shadows in the shadows." and shakes his head. He goes on to state "if we go anywhere, maybe we should go toward that fire and smoke we saw. Maybe its some place safer!"

Vadania answered, "Since we're not likely to get any sleep anyway, that seems like an excellent idea."

"Really bad idea captain. I can out run anyone alive and those wolves can out run me. We just use a claw and climb up the rope and sleep more or less standing up. You can make a harness for your pet. It's not the most comfortable way to sleep but it should be safer then staying on the ground. If we try to make that camp and it turns out we lead the shadow wolves to someones children - I'm going to be pissed." said Ka'lion

"I'm not going to sleep standing up," admitted Vadania. I think the shadow wolves have figured out that we're more than they can handle as long as we stay alert and together. If we separate, then I'd expect them to attack again.""

"And if your wrong. I become party leader. Agreed? Or do we separate and go our own ways?" asks Ka'lion

Garrot shakes his head at the bickering, scratches his head and says "If there are human children nearby, I bet these wolves would be after them! Its my experience that wolves tend to go after the weakest prey or the smallest. They chase me a lot! If they are after us, then there isn't anything weaker nearby. If we are going to move, best do it. And lets light extra torches to keep them at bay."

" I said children - not human children. She become the leader of our party because she wouldn't follow my lead. But if she will only lead me to my death then I'm going my own way." said Ka'lion

Garrot shrugs and looks at the elf and says "I guess it is up to you elf-captain. I'm not sure what the human is on about."
