"I agree with Barbatos as well. We're close enough to moonhaven to offer her a fair trial, if she tells us everything useful she knows about what remains in this lair."
Then Stravanya turns to the freed prisoner and shakes his hand "very nice work sir. I am Stravanya, representative of the Avenger order of Erathis on this continent. Pleased to make your acquaintance. Who are you and how did you come to be imprisonered here?"

The prisoner continues to sit in a dejected funk, weapons laying on the ground beside her. She hears the others talking about her, but most of their discussion is beyond her. She has no idea what a "fair trial" is, but is too depressed to care. She hears mention of her telling them about the rest of the lair, but doesn't have the will left to volunteer anything.

I too agree with him, harknail ill watch my wording from now on. I figured you would have wished her free. That was my mistake, one i will not make down the line.
i forgot we were still close to moonhaven and yes since it was their travelers who were harmed most, it should be them to decide her fate.
As to the loot still here check their leaders body and maybe the weal?
Also turning to the new commer
" My name is zem mostly amongst you are my employees, other then her and oris. Tho each of us take any loot with equal share. I thank you for your assistance in this fight and offer part of the share as compensation. We could also wellcome your help if you wish to join us for im on a quest of importance and the more help the better."

As requested Harknail starts checking the bosses body. He starts by pulling the boss's sword out of it's sheath, and examines it. The sword hilt is black as ebony, though there is some give to it. Along each edge of the blade is a wavy black line, thick at the hilt and growing thiner near the tip. He sets the sword aside for further investigation. The rest of the bosses possesions seem mundane enough, till he gets to a small sack hanging from the boss gnoll's belt. Opening the bag and hearing in, Harknail does a double take. Then not believing his eyes, he reaches in and in and in, well past the bottom of such a small sack. Pulling his arm out he anounces "This bag be bigger on the inside than it be on the outside!"
Carefully extracting items from inside the bag, Harknail finds 3 large items of artwork, 2 more potions of healing, and 80 GP. Although Harknail can't give any value for the artwork, those who haven't spent the last few millennia buried underground would guess that each would bing 250 GP in Moonhaven, if the right buyer could be found.
Anyone want to check out a fancy basterd sword?

" The potions should not go to our 2 healers for time like i was unable to see straight we need a way of healing each other. I cant call you mr wizard anymore since we now have two. Tho i think you should get one. Vetch your using both swords so no free hand otherwise i would say you having one would be ok.
So the other needs to go to oris if he wishes.
if not then our new friend who helped in this should be offered one.
The artwork if everyone is ok with selling it we dont have much use to lug it around. Anyone taking a potion will get 50 less gp for that is only fair.
As to the sword stavania already got bracers So i think the sword should go to harknail.
The bag is to keep things safe and the best person to do that is barbarous. we can keep most of what we dont need such as the art in it.
Does this sound ok to everyone?

"That sounds like an excellent plan to me."
"That artwork is truly stunning. I haven't seen anything quite like it before. We certainly are a long way from home. "
Turning to the prisoner she says "Gnoll, is there anything else of value or importance left in this lair beyond what we have already found?"

Barbatos accepts the replacement for the potion he had used earlier and awaits the gnolls reply, watching the exit from the room. At least one gnoll was still unaccounted for - the cook the fled earlier.

Before engaging in the conversation, Vetch moves over and binds the arms and legs of the gnoll (leaving the legs enough room to walk in a shuffle). He also searches the gnoll and moves the weapons away.
Vetch will then limp over to the group and say "I would be honored to wield the blade, if you all think it fitting. I am reminded of my rude introduction to you all, and thank you for this kindness despite my rudeness."
Vetch then looks at the unusual (he once would have said "strange" before he met this group) newcomer and says "Welcome being. Thank you for your help with this matter. It was touch and go."
Vetch, once things calm down, will examine the blade closely to see if he can fathom any of its properties. He will also show it to Barbatos, to see if he has any insights into the properties of the blade.

Barbatos looks over the blade. It seemed oddly familiar though he could not recall from where, perhaps something he had seen in his clouded past before he arrived on these shores. Appraise weapon CrUWltxKp_1-20+14 arcanaedit - terrible waste of a good roll 1-20

Post by Bennegar Moore on Nov 18, 2014 13:22:18 GMT -5
Bennegar's crystaline body fades back to a dull blue and he slumps slightly, having been cooped up in the cage for far too long to warrant such sudden activity. He stretches, his body cracking and creaking as he does so, the living crystals grinding together, splintering and reforming as he did so. His face splits at the bottom, forming the rough shape of a mouth. He speaks through it, though it obviously takes effort to do so.
"Greetings, friends. I am Bennegar Moore, an Omen-Born of..." He stops suddenly, his face creaking into a frown. "...I actually don't think that place exists any longer. Regardless, I am a Warrior Wizard from a far-off land. I only recently came to this realm due to an unfortunate mishap regarding portals and haphazard magicks." He bows slightly before continuing. "I was born human, but my birth was heralded by a comet, causing me to be the subject of a powerful... "Ascension ritual", my parents called it. Now I am made of crystal; a Shardmind, I hear my kind are called." He looks over at the strange, tentacled creature on the floor. "I know not why, but I assume my Shardmind nature bled through during our battle. That is the only explanation I have for my unending malice toward... THAT thing." He holds out his spear, topped with a crystaline blade similar to that which makes up his body. "This is Lizzy. She was once like me, but..." The spear cuts him off, speaking with an audible, though seemingly disembodied voice, "You messed up a spell, turned me into a sword, and then broke the sword. You clod." The pure vitriol in the feminine voice, when it spoke, chills Bennegar to the bone. He went on. "She is my part--" The spear interjects again. "WAS, you inept fool." Bennegar sighs and continues. "She WAS my partner, and I like to think she still is. Though sometimes I wonder if she'd rather run ME through, rather than some strange creature that ignites a fire within us." The spear simply chuckles and then addresses the group. "I don't talk much, so don't mind me. I'm just a spear to HIM, so why don't you keep up the status quo, hm?" And with that, Lizzy falls silent as Bennegar lowers her and shrugs at the group.
"So. Have you room in your company for a transient mage and his talking spear? I seem to have found myself with no outstanding plans to move forward, and you all seem an agreeable group... What say you?"

" Turning to the prisoner she says "Gnoll, is there anything else of value or importance left in this lair beyond what we have already found?" If you haven't already searched that area, then there are still coins to be found."

Barbatos looks over the blade. It seemed oddly familiar though he could not recall from where, perhaps something he had seen in his clouded past before he arrived on these shores. As Barbatos examines the bastard sword, the black lines along the blade separate from the blade becoming inky black tendrils reaching for a target. After a moment the tendrils once again merge into the blade. Barbatos determines that the sword is a Graefling, and uncommon magic item with many properties. Anyone wielding Graefling has dark vision. When Graefling is used against a bloodied enemies it gains brutal 1. Once per day, when you hit with a melee attack every creature adjacent to you takes 5 necrotic damage. On a crib, Graefling does +2d8 necrotic Damage. Graefling is a +2 sword.

"Thank you. That's a good start. Where did the other Gnoll intend to go when she fled And are there any other remaining Gnolls or Gnoll allies left in this lair besides her?"
Stravanya will search the areas indicated using perception checks to uncover the remaining coin.

"A gnoll fled?" said the prisoner with a quizzical tone. But it was just a rhetorical question, she continued, "It it wasn't out the entrance, it must have fled into the living area. All gnolls were ordered to guard duty except for the child, she was ordered to cook a meal for the rest of us. You have slain our entire tribe."

Well in all fairness they shot me more times then i would like and tried to harm my friends . They were continuing to hunt us in the woods when all we wanted at the time was rest.
then ambushed us not to mention the ones at the bridge from the very start tried to jump us. All of you aimed to prevent us from getting to your leader who cared more about themselfs not the tribe, yet you still let them lead?"

Bennegar overhears the gnoll speaking of a child and he speaks up. "I cannot in good conscience kill a child, even if it be of an unsavory origin. I vote that we attempt to rehabilitate the child into a more civilized lifestyle. Perhaps as a cook's assistant, in the background at a soup kitchen, since it sounds like she might have experience in some form of culinary work..." He pauses for a moment, his face again creaking into an uncertain frown. "Though I concede that many, if not all, will reject such a worker, given her upbringing. But this is only my thought on the matter. I shall deign to not make an attempt to govern your actions; that is the place of your leader..." He suddenly seems sheepish, as if he felt that he was overstepping himself. Lizzy audibly sighs, but says nothing.

Zem looks at him with pride, and bit taken aback that Benn looked so down in what he had said then zem relized that he needed to tell Benn how things worked in the party.
" You a good sole no matter what anyone tells you Bennegar. You just showed more humanity then most have in my entire life. To me that is a very fine way to be and i wish others saw the world and acted the way you just did in situations like these. It would be a much better place if they did.
As leader i need to know when im wrong if i'm truly making a bad call. i had no wish to kill the child, but i do need to be told now and then why my course of action might not work. I always welcome input and ideas so that we can create for better outcomes not just for us but for others too. I want people to hold to what they value not just in iteams but in who they are.
You value life just as much as i do, your not governing our actions you merly pointing out how you feel that is not oversetping at all, so never look or put your self down in my presence for that is not being fair to ones self and i won't have it.
It is an honer to meet one such as you, never forget the core of who you are. and Lizzy mam I know you think your ex here messed up i know not what he did but all i see is that he is trying very hard to make it right and i hope someday you can see what a great person he will be. redemtion comes in many ways, i can only ask that you alow him that chance.
I let each have there say in matters to get a full picture, then we find a solution together as one so that we can all agree to so far that has worked.
If kings or queens ask who is our leader its my job to take full charge, as in its my job to step in there way if they try to come down on any of you.
However i'm not the full athoiry of your mind nor your actions
I only ask you do things that prevent our party being harmed, locked up, hunted down etc, so that i don't have to explain it to gaurds or brake you out, pay bail etc.
