(He is smart and does it at day, not cause she storms off at night, he figured she might but any journy needs to start in daylight and her sent packing was sending her on one,
was more wise to see her leave not know where she is. He would let night pass for his spells just incase she flung any at him first.)

(Also u did say it was first light before and had gotten spells back. Iwas thinking it was the next day and would have waited til it was light out ) "Captain i think you better talk with her, wise words and comfert would maybe help, im not a women so in this case i dont know what is best. i am sorry i just could not trust her, she has no trust in what i am or why i am here. i was the same with all of you and ka'lion and he well did the exact same thing at first. do people wish to fight my help that much? how then do i surve a god that is the god of free choice yet none of u pick a direction that leads anywhere or change your mind every other day. I made ka'lion a promiss and that is what im holding too. It wares me out trying to find what the heck each of u wants in this life. Which reminds me, before I select my spells for the day, does anyone want to try digging out that machine and see what those levers do when it's not buried? I can select spells to soften to earth and make it easy to dig if anyone is still curious about it." |

"Ya its a good idea but first someone should comfert her and explain as to my reason for being with the party, i think she feels, we clerics demand everyone fallow our god and letter of the code is more important then life. as u all know i am here for no such reason. Never the less someone should bring her back to camp when she is calmer, but before she gets to far from camp cause trolls and drow are still out there.
Vadania i get what needs to be done or dealt with but on a personal level what do you want? It can be simple or complex but it has to something for u not others. Yet if you want for yourself to dedicate your life to do that is a journy. The acting of wants and goals are a means to it and along it but not the outcome. I dont expect you to understand but i need you all to try as much as u can, otherwise im no use to any of you."

Garrot watches the exchange between George and the woman. He raises his eyebrows a little when the insults start flying from the lady. As she storms off he simply shakes his head and says to himself "big people. sheesh". He will polish his goggles, and once the sun is back up start searching the barrel again until the group decides what it is going to do. He is a treasure hunter, after all.

There is still a little water in the bottom of the barrel, but with better light it's the back wall which draws Garrots attention the most - it seems in a much worse condition than the rest, while it's built in the same style and of seemingly the same metal it has rusted far more than the other sides.

The rusting area interests Garrot, and he wonders if there isn't a false wall or door hidden here. He will search this area slowly and closely, looking for anything that would indicate the wall may move or be opened in some fashion.

+9=14 (he will take twenty if he doesn't immediately find anything. Hopefully by that point the big people up top will have stopped arguing.

Garrot finds that the back appears to be hinged to open outwards, though it's odd to find an outward opening hinged door with the hinges on the inside.
It doesn't budge when pushed though, to be expected given that the thing is still buried.

Since Garrot seems interested in investigating still, Vadania will soften the soil and start excavating the device. A new handle for the shovel they found is easily made from a tree branch (or a spear if need be).

I wasn't trying to derail the issue with Xena, just showing that Garrot doesn't like to get involved in the kinds of things he doesn't understand, being Chaotic Neutral he tends to focus on individual interests when things are going on that he doesn't think involve him directly

A somewhat subdued Lynette speaks up, "Xana was always running off, she knows all the old smugglers dens and hidden paths around here"
She looks over towards the wrapped up canvas and then to George, asking, "do you know what it is?"

With the aid of Vadania's magic the group is soon able to uncover the upper part of the hovel, finding two protruding lenses much like Altar's spyglass which allow those inside to peer out. The 'front' of the hovel also contains a glass window which is covered by the odd furnace cover inside and as the group dig deeper they find metal protrusions from both sides that seem to anchor it into the ground.
Garrot is particularly curious about a lack of door on the 'back' where the one inside should open, but as he looks around behind the hovel George digging at the front pulls away and holds up his hand to indicate that they should stop - poking up out of the dirt at the front of the device is a skeletal hand.

Vadania will examine the exposed hand, looking for any signs of animation. Not seeing any, she says, "I think we should finish digging him up, then put his remains to rest. It looks to me like he was simply left where he died. "

Garrot looks at the hand and says "Gross!". He will assist in digging up the skeletal remains.
Did Garrot figure out why the metal panel was rusted more than the others?

Want to get Georges feed back on digging up and reburying the remains. If he thinks we should just leave them where they are, Vadania is fine with that too.

Did Garrot figure out why the metal panel was rusted more than the others?
The hand poking up is directly against the side of the object - digging the latter out without disturbing the body would not be possible. |

" all i know about the canvis is all i have said i wish i knew more. From what i know it is too unpredictable and possibly dangerious. As to the dead best leave it be, but looks like if we continue we will disturb it. Disrurbing the dead must be done lightly for it may have a ghost lingering. Or come to life do to necromancer. we came this far and used up importent spells to get here. My solution is someone needs to keep an eye on it at all times, as we do this but preparing ourselfs for it to move.

Is there anything holding the skeleton together, or is Vadania ending up with a collection of loose bones?
Vadania will excavate the body, with the respect due the long dead. These are the remains of a person after all, not just some odd shaped rocks. And she will be very watchful for if the bones start moving.
