"Wooden? Must be one of the Eldeens blades. Strange lot they are, keep to themselves."
Though she had never met one Vadania knows of the Eldeen, a faction of the druids who lived to the west and shunned most contact with the outside world. Her mentor had warned her not to seek them out, that their actions could never be predicted and could be both kind and cruel without the boundaries of the more civilized and stable druid organisations. He described them as a throwback to the old days of the fey when the world was a very different place.
Still, some knowledge of their practices might help Vadania unlock the magic of her weapon.

Vadania commented, "A longsword seems a strange shape for a druid to make, most aren't trained with longswords. I use one because I was trained with one before becoming a druid. Still, thanks for the tip, there is more to learn about this sword so I may seek them out."
Turning to Garrot, she asks, "Have you decided if you want the dagger? It's an impressive looking weapon, at least to someone who knows little about such things like me."

OOC: Based on our earlier attempts, does it seem possible given time and material to build a safe and stable floor in the extra chamber of the device? I like the idea of a safe room to camp in, as long as it's not going to eat us during the night!

(Hard to say from what Vadania has seen so far, the floor did crunch some of the boards when they sank into it and the stability of the whole room is questionable. There is more than enough space to sleep away from the damaged areas but boarding over them, even if the floor holds, is just hiding the problem rather than fixing it. Might make it a little safer in the short term though.)

Does Vadania have any clue to how to actually fix the floor? I didn't think that would be possible. But if it can made safely usable that could be great for both storage and sleeping. I was under the impression that most of the room had risky floors. If a sizable section of the floor is already safe, perhaps a barrier around the unsafe area would be easier. Just don't want anyone rolling into a bad spot while sleeping! At one point we thought the bad area's might be moving, did we ever confirm that or not? And how big is this room (total and safe area)?

The internal space has a curved ceiling, about 10 feet high at it's highest point but only 3 feet at the entrance and around the edges, and is a roughly circular room 60 feet across - the exact edge at the far end is difficult to determine due to the damaged nature of the room.
The bad areas do not move so much as different areas are more or less stable than others, some parts of the floor are always solid, some always soft, and some changeable. Of course for all Vadania knows the entire room may be subject to change, but from what she has seen so far she feels that the half of the room closest to the entrance is fairly safe and some kind of barrier around the edge would likely crack and break apart warning those within if the safe area was to begin to 'close in'.
Whatever magic created this though is far beyond Vadania's knowledge.

Big room! Yes, half the room will be plenty for sleeping and storage. While waiting for Eldon to arrive, she'll want to erect a barricade to prevent anyone from accidentally getting too close to an unsafe area, and to provide warning if the unsafe area's approach the sleeping group.
After Garrot buys his new dagger (or decides not to), Vadania will try to find out more about what that talk of graveyards and army's is about. She'll just go to the fellow who was talking to the cleric and ask if there are any other problems she can help with while waiting for Eldon.

Isolde, the guard leader, turn to speak to Vadania, "my scouts have brought us disturbing news, it would seem that the enemy seek to raise our own fallen against us, some of our greatest heroes from their rest in the mausoleum. We are too few to push through, but perhaps your device might be able to make the journey?"

Garrot will look at the tradesman and say "what is your price sir, for that dagger...knowing that I go to fight the foes of your town and keep it safe!" Garrot puffs up his chest and swirls his cloak in what he thinks is a "heroic" fashion.

" But that is why we've been trying to repair it and learn it's operation. Where is the mausoleum, what guards it, and what would you have us do there?"

"The creature within the monastery has turned our own sisters against us, possessed, they guard these lands with the goblins and the risen dead of the merchants and travellers who fell here. But the mausoleum is protected and there must be some thing or some one who has been sent to break this seal. It is surrounded by walls and thick brush in all directions save one, even if we could distract the patrols we could not break through the gate and whatever guards it before others arrive - but this construct might"

"I need to check with the others to be sure they are willing to do this," answered Vadania. "They are the ones who pilot the device."
Vadania checks with Garrot and Lynette to see if they're willing to try breaking into a mausoleum to keep someone from breaking seals and releasing more nastiness into the world.

Garrot, upon hearing he can use the device to possibly break things is very enthusiastic about going.

Lynette also agrees but doubts the ability of the construct in battle, particularly against spellcasters, and suggests that they might bring some of the defenders with them if they are to fight on foot once they reach their destination.

Vadania turns back to the guard leader and answers, "It appears that you have our services. Do you expect us to do this alone, or will you also be sending some of your men as Lynette suggested?"

Isolde nods, "I can spare a three of our guards, and call on a patrol to lure others away. We are few in number but this threat must be met now before it is too late"

"I will do my best to return your guard to you in good health," says Vadania.
OOC: How far away is this? Specifically, will Vadania have a chance to change spells before this encounter.

OOC: OK, so just go with traveling spells.
So we just need to finish Garrot's negotiations to buy a nice dagger and we can be on our way.

Garrot puffs up his chest and swirls his cloak in what he thinks is a "heroic" fashion. We're still waiting for a reply to this (which would have happened before we met the guard leader).
