Leading the charge Archibald engages the frozen naga before it can clear the passageway and enter the cave, blocking the portal both for escape and reinforcement, and while he would not normally expect a magically animated adversary to radiate any concept of good or evil it becomes apparent to the crusader that the magic used here is evil in the extreme.
His blow lands true but not nearly enough to fell the towering construct of ice and corpse, though in combination with Brenners flame strike the damage is sufficient to at least judge its durability and Archibald believes that a few more such strikes should lay it low - if it does not strike him down first.
[Tag Ylva - there is enough space for one more alongside Archibald, but no more. The creatures height makes it easy enough to target over the crusaders head however]

Vadania we'll call out to Ylva to stay back and let Neera engage. While she has not known the tiger girl for long, she knows that Neera would not be happy about being blocked from the fight.

The ice-construct responds to Archibalds attack with thundering blows of its own, lacking in any finesse but more than making up with sheer force to batter through the warriors defenses.
After the blow connects it does not pull back but instead begins to melt and re-form around Archibalds arm as it attempts to encase him in the same magical ice that surrounds it.
(14 physical and 9 cold damage from the slam attack, and a particularly difficult opposed grapple roll required given the target to beat is 29 - Archibalds allies may wish to aid him quickly here)

Vadania will try helping by coming close enough to cast Bull's Strength (+4 str for a minute) on Archibald.
Neera will try helping by trying to slice off the arm that's holding Archibald. Neera hacks away at the ice construct, inflicting further damage as it begins to crack apart though with little apparent loss of its unnatural strength. One thing is clear to her as she gets close - this was not the cause of the wounds suffered by the naga.
Moriana quickly casts a protection spell on Archibald, warding off the supernatural cold for now but not before the its grasp chills him, threatening to encase him entirely in ice (4 damage)

Archibald rolls for a new maneuver: LqZfN9wNp_1-5; White Raven Tactics. Grapple check: p_1-20+16 = 22
Brenner will attack the creature with a charge of his Wand of Scorching Ray: p_1-20+4 = 12 to hit touch AC; p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6p_1-6 = 21 fire damage.
Archibald will use a Swift Action to use White Raven Tacticts; he will direct Brenner's initiative to be directly after his own (this applies for the rest of combat), allowing Brenner to act again this round. Brenner will attack once more with his Wand of Scorching Ray:

The magical fire has a clear and dramatic effect as it melts and boils away much of the target. Between this initial success and the aid of Archibalds manoeuver Brenner quickly attempts to follow up with another blast... too hastily perhaps. Archibald is unable to take control of the grapple at this point, and Brenner will need to roll a DC10 Dexterity check. Morianas chill shield spell may come in handy here

Ice begins to form around Archibald, who while protected from the cold itself by magic is not protected from suffocation, and in a moment of panic Brenner redirects his fire to try and free the warrior directly.
Morianas magic shields him from the worst of it (5 damage total) as the ice melts into boiling steam for a moment before re-forming, the enchanted cold rapidly draining the freshly cast resistance spell - though it holds for now.
With Archibald now drawn immobile into the expanding ice the construct leaves him and lurches forward seeking to engulf Neera (initial slam damage 9 after DR, plus 8 cold, opposed grapple test target 28)
As strong a foe as it is, the damage inflicted upon it has been significant and victory seems near. But Vadania notices that Ylva nearby has caught the scent of something else and is looking towards the roof of the cave as if seeking its source. Before she can further speculate a vast swarm of ice-like spiders seem to burst up from the ground around them biting and clambering up the legs of the party.
DC 16 fortitude checks for everyone except Archibald and Neera or be nauseated for one round (distracted by the swarming spiders) Anyone may attack the ice-spiders which are treated collectively as a single large swarm
[Tag All - Archibald needs a Strength DC 23 check to break free as a full action, or another can make the test on his behalf. Fire will also melt him free.]

Can Archibald use his Shadow Jaunt maneuver to escape the grapple? It requires line of sight and line of effect, but I don't think it requires that he not be grappled. As it is a teleport effect not a movement effect, and as Archibald isn't grappled now anyway (just trapped in the ice) he will be able to use a standard action to escape with shadow jaunt if he wishes.

Archibald will do just that, then, as a standard action - appearing behind the ice construct to offer flanking for any who need it. He'll also use a bonus action to pop a charge of his Amulet of Tears for 12 temporary hit points.
Brenner's save: TnMBQijep_1-20+5 = 8; he is nauseated. All he can take is a move action under this condition, so he'll end his turn here.

Vadania and Ylva find themselves surrounded by the ice spiders, biting away but not impeding the more experienced warriors - though if left unattended they will likely bite harder. The summoned wolves however can do little but fend them off while Morianas flight keeps her out of reach for now.
Neera, like Archibald, finds the ice quickly closing in around her (Strength DC 23 check to break free during her action)
[Tag Vadania and Ylva - and Moriana may be directed to cast anything within her usual capabilities. Vadania automatically notices that Ylva has sensed something, though she does not know what]

The cavern above appears empty and yet something is off... the light from the staff Brenner carries appears to swirl in the cold mist as if pushed away from one spot above the entrance.
