Here's the fight pit. I figured that with this size it wouldn't take folks 20 rounds to reach one another. I have installed 5 convenient pillars so that you cannot see your foe striaght out of the gate, that will prevent first round fireballs and the like. The arena is a large dome, the center pillar rising 50 feet above while the outer edges are 20 feet up. (The scale is 5' for the squares.)
The floor is covered in sand granting everyone a +2 to move silently checks.
The pillars, [=], grant cover and block line of sight if used properly.
Each combatant (or team of combatants) rises through the floor on wooden platforms ,(-), not knowing where the other combatants are. The Moderator of the fight will randomly decide who starts where. Depending on the fight, it may be possible that extra items (such as healing potions, bull strength, etc.) could appear on the platforms not occupied by the combatants. These items (where applicable) may provide an edge to the battle.
All the normal rules that apply in our other D&D games apply here. You are allowed to use any ability that you posess to try to overcome your oponent. The PCs are considered well rested and prepared to do battle in the arena, this is ony superceded if the PC has permannet ability score damage or the like. Unless otherwise specified prior to the match there will be proper light conditions for the combatants, usually everburning torches set around the walls and on the pillars illuminating the area.
So as to not confuse posts too much, I'd prefer to only host one battle at a time.
Edit: One more thing. If a player wants to send the Moderator a secret message, to keep something somewhat private, please feel free to PM or IM me with the information.
As always I ask that everyone play fair, and NO METAGAMING. I don't want people changing their actions based upon what the ther player is doing. let's be fair about this.
