As a boy, Kieron grew up on a large farm. Many back breaking hours toiling the soil gave him great strength and stamina. In the evenings, he would play in the town centre watching the adventurers spend their spoils. Kieron had always dreamed of becomeing a dashing, powerful warrior. How things had changed.
Leaving home to take up the sword, he fell in with a group of adventurers know as the the Black Hands. The arrogant leader of the party - Eldred Rathspear was more than eager to show off to the impressionable youth. As the youngest, he was treated little better than a slave cooking, cleaning and carrying luggage. The only fighting was as a sparring partner for the massive Eldred. It seemed he only practised how to get bruise - not how to slay legions of Orcs.
However, things changed when the Black Hands visited an eastern city. A small, fragile old man playing dice was challenged by the arrogant Eldred. The old man beat him soundly out of 500 gold pieces. Incensed by this outrage, Eldred went to strike the old man with his massive fist. However, Eldred found himself thrown about like a rag doll. The old man had a curious way of moving and fighting. He would barely touch the hulking warrior - twice the weight of the old man and send him flying. Embarrassed and shamed, Eldred fled the laughing Black Hands. Kieron followed the old man out of town to a large, walled temple atop a hill. From that day, he had devoted himself to learning the arts of Gung-Fu and its mysterious philosophy. He would leave ten years later the best student in his class.
