SEA GREEN
Gro-Bug steps up and buries his axe in the nearest scorpion with a howl. His veins bulge, his muscles ripple with the rage that consumes him. [Attack Results = 25, hit. Damage Results = 19] The creature recoils, losing a the whole left side of its mandible in the strike. It sprays the floor with sickly green blood.
Ellla directs Sax to leap down the stairs, which the dog does with ease. She then races past the rear scorpion, driving her lance into the monstrous vermin as she does. [Attack Results = 24, hit. Damage Results = 19] The beast stands little chance of surviving another blow like this as it is nearly knocked over. It screeches an ear-piercing howl of pain.
Black-Jack bobs and weaves, but the wily vermin closest to him never takes its eyes off the mark. [Unintelligent creatures can't be feinted. Attack Results = potential critical. Confirmed. Damage Results = 11 (crit)] Though he may not be able to fool it, Black-Jack still drives a devastating hit. He manages to pierce the creatures' right eye. It explodes in a gore of black goo and thick white slime.
Natsumi looses a glittering explosion of sparkling dust over the majority of the scorpions left. The dust falls over everything, getting in their eyes and forcing them to snap wildly. {Targeting the upper left corner of #4 with a 10' spread will get 1,2, 3, 4 & 6. What can I do to make the map more readable?} [WILL Saves = All Failures] IT seems to be very effective as all the scorpions snap wildly at you and each other, unable to see through the glittering cloud of dust.
Henrick swings on the scorpion before he and Gro-Bug. [Attack Results = miss] However, the dust must be messing with his vision because he fails to connect with the wild beast.
The scorpions continue to rake wildly and snap at whatever they can, their vision failing them. They seem to have an unnatural affinity to locate you though, as their claws and tails whip with precision. {Each Scorpion has Termorsense, so no miss checks right?...} [Attack Results = 1 claw and tail on Henrick for combined 8 damage + poison (Made FORT), and one claw on Black-Jack for 10] The scorpions launch a meager counteroffensive. They are mindless creatures snapping at anything they can...sometimes even each other. {If miss checks are needed, the two claws fail to connect, but the tail still hits Henrick for 3.}
Sean finishes his gestures and a mound of earth rises from behind the scorpions. Two sparkling blue gems for eyes and two massive mitts made of the very ground for hands. It slams into the nearest scorpion. {I couldn't get you behind #2 to flank, position OK?} [Attack Results = 14, miss.] However, the creature is ineffectual against the vermin.
{Sean, you also get an action in the same round as your elemental appearing.}

DARK RED
Lenny squeezes unseen through the door as the guardians pull them shut with their massive stone hands. They stare at you blankly, their faces devoid of emotion or anger...just simple guardians with an age-old simple task; keep out all but the dead kings of the Dwarves. For the moment, you have no choice but to place your faith in their abilities and hope they will perform their given tasks dutifully.
Still, you can't help but wonder....are Vorkal and his shadow minions watching you from the darkness, laughing? Will they fare any better at passing the guardians? What of the strange noises you hear at night? You limp out of the Halls of Glory, licking your wounds and praying that the answer is handed down from on high...because you've run out of options.
You pass the great stacks of clan bones in the underground, those uncelebrated Dwarven warriors that have passed. The clerics still search, but the Captain informs them that the outsiders are fairly certain the golden bone they seek is in the tomb of Garor Skullsplitter. The clerics gasp, knowing exactly what this means...passing the guardians. They return to the stacks, pretending to search diligently as--just like the captain--they lack the courage to face the guardians of their beloved.
You struggle up the steps and return to the halls of the Dwarves. The captain leads through the labyrinth of tunnels and corridors, past many clerics and soldiers. You take a turn and realize you have come back to the grand hall.
The grand hall is looking more festive with each passing minute. Banners are hung across the stone hallway, proclaiming the glory of the Dwarves in their tongues. Tables are spaced evenly apart, at their heads a large wooden platform. Atop these platforms, workers strain to lift massive kegs of ale for the festival. Mugs are centered around the tables next to plates and eating utensils.
It promises to be quite an event.
The captain leads you to the reception hall of King Dolster. As to be expected, the King is surrounded by advisers and clerics, all discussing the upcoming event. Currently, King Dolster holds his arms wide while a tailor measures him for ceremonial robes. He notes the grim look on your face.
"Why th'long face? Did ye not find a clue in th'halls o' glory?"
