Dragon Mountain, a legend older than time itself. A place, part-myth, part-imagination, part-truth, that is filled with wondrous treasure and incredible peril. This place could be the top of any adventurer's career, or the end of it.
Some of the stories say it overflows with jewels, gold, and magical items. Others say it isn't guarded, but still others warn against the incredibly powerful forces that guard the entrance. None of the stories seem to match.
Located at the edge of all that is known, it appears to change where it is located, and sometimes not be there at all. No one is certain when it will come back, or where, but they know they want to be there when it reappears.
They want what it can bring them, regardless of the danger.
They want Dragon Mountain.
This is the urban legend of which everybody is aware. Accurate information regarding the mountain is priceless, those who know anything of it are few compared to those who claim to know something.
As a party, you have traveled together, fought together, and ultimately ruled together for many years. Your interests in Dragon Mountain are obvious, it is the greatest challenge available to you, there is nothing left in this land for you to fear or aspire to.
Among you, with pooled resources, libraries, and people, you have uncovered enough to learn Dragon Mountain will be shifting somewhere close very soon. From your seats of power in the city of Cambridge, you await the final development, a lead.
One day that lead arrives. A man's tongue comes loose in the nearby village of Harkers Ferry, he has claimed to know somebody who has actually visited the mountain, somebody who must know how to find it, predict its movements.
Your runners failed to trap the target, "Lothar the Shiv", and he has fled his home village of Twin Forks.
He knows something.
You ready your things and take to the road.
