Shay and Dalien step aboard and speak with the Captain while they wait for the others.
Mel tells you he thinks it's high time Lothar was taken down a peg or two. "That Lothar is a nasty piece of work, runs a lot of lackeys in these parts, and, consorts with, things..of the water," he says, looking around at his crew for agreement. The sea-dog crew nod and aye in agreement. "More would profit from his downfall than would lose out, that's for sure, and I think you're the ones to do it!" A small cheer of agreement goes up as the crew busy themselves for putting out to sea again.
The 'Uneven Keel' casts away from dock ready to chase Lothar down, and the rest of the party are ferried aboard with a smaller rowing boat when they arrive from their brawl in the tavern (let me know if anybody wants to stay behind, I just like to try and keep things moving with PbP games..).
Soon, your sails are full of wind and it is apparent Lothar stands little chance of outrunning you in his tiny fishing vessel, assuming Mel's word is good, and the man you are chasing *is* Lothar. As you start to approach bow shot range, you notice grey clouds rolling in over the water, and soon enough it is spitting with rain and blowing a near gale across deck. The crew look worried, their enthusiasm for the chase waning as the skies continue to darken and the winds continue to get up in speed.
Lothar's small boat begins to pull away again. A sail tears, waves continue to grow and thrash the boat about, and soon it seems you are getting nowhere. There is magic at work, or something supernatural. The storm is isolated around the 'Uneven Keel', Lothar is speeding away under clear skies!!
A scream goes up from one of the crew and you spin around to see him struggling in mid-air with an unseen force.
The wind rises to an incredible speed and appears to channel towards the hapless crewman, whose clothes tear, and as he screams, his very flesh appears to be dragged lose of his bones. He falls in a heap to the deck, and is quickly washed over board as the boat tilts this way and that in the storm.
You are all holding on tight to whatever you can grab by this point, and looking around for what is besieging the boat. A devil-like shape forms out of the rain and wind, hovering over the deck, unperturbed by the storm that ravages everybody else. Whatever it is, it must be defeated, lest the boat and everybody aboard be drowned!
Let's have initiative (1d10 + weapon/action speed), and actions please. We'll take this one round at a time.
"So, you know we're out for Lothar. You got something against him too?"
