Lothar looks at you with unblinking eyes. Together, the two boats bob and knock each other in the swell, the only noise to pierce the silence the occasional gull caw.
Lothar laughs.
A deep belly shaking laugh, his relief is obvious.
"I thought you were bountyhunters, sent buy the Assasin's Guild!" He stoops over, racked with mirth. "But you just want to know about Dragon Mountain!" He laughs again, almost hysterical.
"I know nothing about Dragon Mountain! You've gone to all this trouble to track me down, and it seems my friends," more laughter, "that you have been ill-informed!"
--
Mel scuttles over to Shay and Dalien, and whispers, "He could be lying, and in any case, he's worth 10,000!! Let's get him aboard and secure him!"
--
Shay, Dalien, you eye the crew, and Mel, and Lothar, doing your best to assess what these people think of each other. Who fears who? (dicerolls)
The crew of the 'Uneven Keel' are afraid of this man. They wouldn't have dared try for the bounty by themselves, not without your help. If he really does know nothing about Dragon Mountain, it could turn out to be alot of time and expenditure dealing with him, for little reward in your case. On the other hand, you could be doing the lands about here a serious favour.
How in the whole of East Anglia could your runners have heard so wrong? Actually, you can quite imagine. Man goes into bar, asks around about Dragon Mountain. Other man in bar hears only part of the conversation. Other man goes to Lothar, "There's a man in the bar saying he's been sent by The Mountain boss!", and thus ensues this whole misguided escapade..
