SEA GREEN
Lord Amassu remains comfortable in his throne, even seeming to relax a little bit. Something about the lavish words of Natsumi put him at ease, soothing his need to be dominant and overpowering. The Sky-King listens intently to her speech, reserving his response for a few moments after her request. When he does speak, his voice is like rolling thunder echoing off the canyon walls.
"I have heard this name whispered on the winds...'The Master'. I do not fear this name or its followers." The Lord leans forward, eyeing you with a serious gaze. "I am ruler of the sky. It is in my domain that man fears to tread. It is in my domain that man is not meant to be. I am the thunder and the wind and none are above me."
"I will take the bone of copper into the sky and 'The Master' and his followers shall never reach it."
"I have no need for your service but your words have done much to heal damage with The Dune Palace. I will end the siege and resume the games with our half-brothers."
"But the bone and all artifacts of legend stay here."
Lord Amassu leans back, triumphant, unchallenged. His face twists into a smirk while wisps of clouds dance over his cheekbones. Madrigal looks to you all, unsure of what to say next. At least he didn't kill us, you can read across his face. Just as the Half-Giant spins on his heels, Lord Amassu speaks once more.
"...Unless you are willing to remain here."
You notice Amassu's gaze is settled directly on Natsumi.
"I will release the bone in exchange for your service."
Henrick immediately places his hand on his blade, his brow furling in anger.

Dartius speaks quickly, avoiding the usual protocols of welcome. He responds to Wanderer first.
"As far as we can tell, yes. Certainly our brothers of good faiths have expressed their troubles and we gather that those of questionable or malignant faiths are out of touch as well--though they would never admit it."
An acolyte approaches, carrying a pile of dusty tomes. Dartius points him to the rear of the temple where a group of acolytes bustles about.
"We have heard rumblings of the Deathspeakers, whispers among the lower ward really. We didn't find them to be a threat for without a god, there is no divine power to draw on. But your words trouble me...if they speak and control the undead, then certainly there is a divine connection of a most unholy sort."
When Lenny draws the symbol out, Dartius nods indicating that is the very symbol he's seen cropping up. "I have seen this symbol before, in the lower wards and usually on unsavory characters. Again, I didn't think it a serious threat, but now I have more clues to our dire puzzle. Thank you for that."
In response to your mention of seeing the dead risen and communicated with, Dartius asks;
"How long has it been since you have witnessed this? If they have been doing this as recent as a week ago, it may be that they can communicate with their dark gods while ours have fallen silent."
{I will answer this as a DM for you, it's been roughly 9-12 days since you've seen it. You can put that in your post.}
Another acolyte approaches, this time his arms laden with dusty scrolls stacked like cordwood in his arms. Again Dartius points him to the rear of the temple.
"I do not believe that St. Cuthbert has abandoned his children stranger."
"As to your hypothesis of something blocking our channels, that is exactly what we are researching. We are using ancient tomes and texts to look for any sign of this happening in history. If it happened in the past, then perhaps we can find the key to unlocking the channels once more."
"The rest of our efforts are engaged in direct research and cooperation with other good temples--even some neutral faiths. This has hit everyone...save for these 'Deathspeakers' you mention."
"What I wouldn't give to ask one of them some questions..."
Lastly, in response to Tyrano, Dartius motions to the stacks of tomes and scroll tubes.
"The single greatest place in all the lands for historical documents and sagely resources is Mordrock University. It is just there, beyond these doors near the center of town. You cannot miss it for it has an immense, steepled copper roof."
Dartius looks very busy and anxious to get to his research. His eyes look for a polite end to this conversation.
