Hearing the roar of the creature in the ruins you split up and hurry through the mire to your respective positions. Goran struggles through the water that threatens to consume him entirely, intent on closing with the beast as quickly as possible. Crom and Elthar take up positions on more solid ground and await further events.
Shay and Dalien lay low among some foliage, crouching into the water further so as to hide themselves. The atmosphere is palpable.
Matrox waddles through the swamp and casts Improved Invisibility. He vanishes, leaving only a hollow indent in the mire where his waist and legs should be.
Surprise rolls, Crom, Elthar, Goran (other party invisible+"rainy"+expecting danger=at -2):
[dice=10]
[dice=10]
[dice=10] - Goran is surprised.
The wetland bursts open in a stagnant spray before the rocky shore Crom and Elthan share, and where the Dwarf struggles on by himself. Large serpent heads dart from the depths, their scaled heads glistening in the late morning heat, a stench like old rot and sickness bursting forth from the swamp as it is raked up and disturbed by the Giant Snakes' attacks.
Giant Snake, free surprise melee attack on Goran:
[dice=20]=auto and critical hit.
Giant Snake Bite = [dice=3] *2 = 6 points of damage.
Goran, the bite is enough to shrug off, but as you feel the toxins forced under your skin and spread by the beast's fangs, you grit your teeth and think of your Dwarven forefathers. Hopefully, your resistance to such things will be enough to save you.
Goran Save vs. Poison, [dice=20]+4(CON) = 19 (an easy pass I think).
Poison Type=[dice=2]
Poison Result for a passed save is [dice=8][dice=8][dice=8] =8 points of damage (instead of death in 2-8 rounds).
{Initiative and actions for next round please. We will use one initiative for the group of Giant Snakes as a whole, you each roll separate initiative, we'll re-use the initiative rolls until the end of the encounter to save time.}
