Shay and Dalien find a relatively even area further down the slope to the trail's left. It's in a more open area, but without fires, nobody is going to spot you with the horses tethered up under the cover of trees, and anybody creeping up on you will find it harder. It also suits Crom's requirements for a circle of unlit but oiled fires.
Corm's first watch passes uneventfully, but even the barbarian is tiring after his second watch comes to an end. As Shay continues to enjoy sleeping through the early hours as Crom tries to keep his senses alert, the barbarian picks himself up wearily from where he rests against a rock - an ominous flapping sound can be heard, and it's getting closer!
As the flapping gets closer, two large dark figures can be seen in the sky. Their huge forms almost blocking out the moon at times. Crom, you become aware of a faint light shining from beneath Elthar's blanket, and immediately know that Infyrana has sent minions to destroy you!
{Crom, you are the only one awake. You get what is effectively a surprise round to act in before the Wyverns can attack.}

"Crom!" [dice=20](hit AC -14...) Watching their silhouette against the stars, Crom gathers his strength and waits until they comit to the attack; then with a mighty roar he unleashes Torden. As the hammer strikes true a mighty crack of thunder shakes the night sky...
[dice=4][dice=4]The first wyvern is hit for 29 points of damage and both wyverns are stunned for a single round (no save).
(edit - with the surprise round over Crom will use his self-igniting torch to light a fire and fight with the flames to protect his flank)[rand=9077341839565987005556708309918834849449470071461413751645802458195]

Shay pulls his blanket to his chin and hugs it tightly.
Why did Crom always have to shout his own nameat the top of his lungs in the dead of the night.
Shay was deep in thoughts of women bathing in clean water. He didn't much like the notion of being disturbed, so tries to drown everything out by putting his pillow over his face and ears.

Elthar rolls over and grabs for weapons/shield asap, wishing he'd had a ranged attack handy. <btw, have the spells reset yet? there's some changes I'd like to make to the random assortment >

Priests normally pray for their spells at night, or first thing in the morning. In this case, I would say you've had plenty of time since the encounter in the swamps to pray to your deity and choose some new spells.
In the future, you'll find resting safely in Dragon Mountain to be very tricky at times. When that becomes the case, we'll keep a closer eye on when spells are replenished, as it relies on you finding a suitable amount of uninterrupted peace time.

Dalien blinks awake, sighs a little, and reaches for his bow. "Good thing we didn't have a campfire to give away our location," he grumbles, glaring pointedly at Goran.[Not sure whether there's time to get up, grab bow, and attack. I'll leave it to you. Here's an initiative roll, though (d10, right?):
[dice=10]
THAC0 11, d6+2 damage. [rand=13872302924698678129274570324654458823022665652284249664149114]

Goran rolls outa bed and says back to Dalien, "Just be glad its only a few of these, a fire woulda attracted an even larger group. The others are probably out there still hunting."

"Right. And I'm sure Crom's signal flare won't draw them here at all."

When it comes around to Shay's turn, he's gonna gather up all of his blankets and hide.
(Should be 95 percent or something with the cloak. )

I did take note of your precautions at camp for the night. There are in fact other enemies on your tail that would have also found you had you not been as careful as you have been. As it is, it's just the Wyverns Crom gets to eat this time.

As it is, it's just the Wyverns Crom gets to eat this time. [All crom wanted was a little rest, but no - someone had to go and fob a double watch off on him Poor Crom. Whatever happened to wizard wards, cunning traps set by thieves, and the old standby of wyvern watch and alarm? If wyvern poison wasn't so dangerous i'd be tempted to spent my next action kicking the slacker(s) awake :-p]

Why work for it if magic could do it for you? [There was an Alarm spell.]

Matrox opens his eyes to the screech of wyverns and the roar of Crom.....staggering to his feet he looks around trying to gauge the situation, it looked bad. Dragging a spell from his memory, Matrox forms a cloud of ice and hail around the wyverns.
Cast Icestorm to cath one or both wyverns avoiding the party.
Init [dice=10] +4
