[Crazy mad diplomacy from the unusually talkative barbarian ] The guard studies Gro-Bug for any sign of deception on his face. [Sense Motive Guard] Seeing none, the stoic Dwarf lets his guard down a little, metaphorically speaking.
"You seem genuine outsider, so I will take a chance on you. I swear to Moradin and his forge, if you make me regret this there will be no place you could ever hide from me..."
The guards motions towards the massive fortress, the face of the screaming Dwarf carved into the mountain. He moves through streets this way and that, dodging revelers that seem oblivious to the mild earthquakes plaguing the city. Each passing tremor causes the guard to increase pace and look about even more worried.
He finally comes to a stop right before the chasm that leads to the castle. "Let no one see you if you do this, but if you cross the chasm and follow the trails of smoke, you will be inside the great hall in no time. If you truly wish to speak with the King and your plea is truthful, then I wish you luck."
You look to the face of the screaming Dwarf. The only signs of smoke you see are thin trails that waft lazily from the nostrils...
{If you wish to take this path, I will need a DC 15 climb check. I would also like a Hide check to avoid being spotted as you climb.}

The tension in the dunes is thick, each giant there on the verge of swinging scimitar and mace. Amassu, stubborn as he is, gives pause when you speak. The Sand Giants too, are interrupted in their hostilities as soon as you open your mouth. None present clearly expected you to act beyond your introduction.
After a moments pause in which he never releases his grip on his weapon or his gaze on the sand giants, Amassu relents. His voice is booming and commanding, much like when you first encountered him.
"Speak and reason with them. They risk their lives with their defiance."
You notice the figure hidden in the dunes beyond has given a slight pause as well, but then continues to shuffle around the dune unnoticed by Amassu.

You easily find enough materials to make a rudimentary bridge. A few planks of enough length are all you need, quickly lashed together with some rope. The bridge probably won't survive more than one crossing, but that's all you need.
[Balance Check = Success] Using your light step and good sense of balance, you manage to cross the bridge before it almost snaps in half and falls to the alley below. It makes quite the ruckus, but no worse than the battle that rages out front...apparently your friends are making their own entrance.
The roof of this warehouse is broad and flat, nearly fifty feet wide and twice as long. There is but one structure atop it, the slight raise of a platform with a trap door set into it. Aside from this, there are no sentries, no guards, not even the errant bird.
{You can either inspect the trap door or move to the front to see the battle.}

Tyrano rushes forth, hiding the coveted bone, drawing his weapons and bursting into flames. Though slightly startled, the Death-Speakers seem to be no stranger to magic. They are ready to fight.
Wanderer charges across the darkened alley, emerging like a deadly spectre with the great maul of Garor Skullsplitter in hand. He brings it across the body of the first Deathspeaker, clobbering him senselessly. [Attack Results = Hit. Damage Results = 20] The man in the full plate staggers from the blow, nearly toppling over. He remains upright though, still in the fight.
Gildas walks forward, hurling a javelin at the Deathspeaker closest to him. [Attack Results = miss, barely] The javelin thunks into the wood near the mans' body, but fails to connect.
Thalia smirks, knowing this is what it would come to all along. She removes a small dagger and flips on her hands to get behind Wanderer.
Tumble Check @ +9
[dice=20]
Success, on the nose.
Attack @ +6 w/ Flank
[dice=20]
Die Results = 11 + 6 + 2 = 19, hit.
Damage Results = 4 + 1 + 8 (Flank) [Adjust accordingly for any special abilities]
Thalia manages a good blow, driving her blade deep into Wanderer's back. You hear her snidely comment. "I told you they pay well..."
The Deathspeakers go next. The one nearest to Wanderer steps back and places his hands on his wounds, healing them with a cooling miasma of energy. The other turns on Wanderer and shoots his fingertips outward, trying to hold the barbarian still.
Cure Moderate Wounds results for #2 = 12
Wanderer, I will need a DC 15 WILL Save or be Held.
