Lothar stays crouched in the pile of clutter he landed in, hands raised, eyes wide with fear and staring at the sharp end of Shay's sword.
"Please! He sprang me from custody! I had worked with him, I had information, a-about his d-dealings. He made me come along. He wanted the Shard, but I don't! I don't!"
Lothar looks between you and the bleeding corpse of the wizard. Outside, the Troll sizzles and pops, and black smoke pours past the open doorway. The smell of burnt flesh filters into the store.
"I don't know anything, I don't. I'll go back, turn me in if you like, I'm ruined, I don't want the Shard, I don't want anything to do with the mountain you seek. It's all been a big mix up, you and I. Please!? Just let me go!?"
Cud continues to make no noise from inside the closed chest.

"You're so useless," Shay declares, completely exasperated. "And to tell you the truth, I don't even care if you are lying to my face right now."
Shay does not turn his attention from Lothar, the sneaky bastard whom he still doesn't trust.
He raises his voice to call for Crom.
"Hey Crom, come 'ere a minute and break this guy's fingers. Wizards can't wizard without their fingers. I'm gonna check on Ol' Cud here."
Though Shay never really wishes death upon anyone, Lothar was certainly pushing his luck. They could turn him in. Maybe he'd learned his lesson this time around. And if he did know more, he'd likely speak once Crom got his big paws on him again.
Once Crom can take over and remove Lothar from the store, Shay will move slowly and cautiously toward the chest where Cud is hiding. He will tap on it softly and speak to get the old man's attention, invoking the power of his secret weapon to gain Ol' Cud's trust again.
"Hey Cud, you still in there?" Shay speaks in soft and gentle tones. "It's OK, everything's taken care of. It's me, your friend Shay. Remember, we talked about Gerdie and the old days together. Well Gerdie gave me something to show you, but you gotta come out of there first to see it."

Crom strides up and punches Lothar in the jaw. Shay may want him to talk but the barbarian has heard enough of his pitiful whining.
Shaking his head as he drags the man from the store Crom can't help but think that they don't make spellthrowers like they used to. He longed for the mountain and the true challenges that lay ahead.

Has anyone even heard from Spiral in these past three or so months? Is he out in the wilds again?

er...spiral is unlikely to be playing this. I saw him new years and he said he was dropping this. I forgot about it completely though. He's got some big changes in his life coming up so i guess he's oput for the forseeable future.
