In a last ditch effort, the Death-Speakers resort to the last spells in their repertoire. One focuses on the raging Gro-Bug, the other takes a step towards Ella, his hands dripping with sickly energy.
Ella, touch attack @ +7
[dice=20]
[Die Results = 18 + 7 = 25, Hit.]
If Hit, I need a FORT Save DC 16 or be affected with Contagion - Blinding Sickness
FORT Save +7
[dice=20]
[Die Results = 17 + 7 = 24, Freakin' Success...AGAIN. No effect.
Gro-Bug, they will use their final Bestow Curse on you. WILL Save DC 17. If fail, 50% action. WILL Save @ +4
[dice=20]
[Die Results = 5 + 4 = 9, Failure 50% actions ]
[50% roll = success] Gro-Bug shakes the magic hold on his body and strides forward to the closet Cleric and brings Snaga around full bore. The blade digs deep, cutting the man nearly clean in two. [One Hit, Damage Results = 44] A thin trickle of blood leaks from beneath the man's helm, then he falls to the ground dead.
Ella advances on the man before her, driving the lance through his stomach and back. [Attack results = Hit, Damage Results = 24] Like Gro-Bug, Ella cuts her man down without much more struggle. He drops his mace, shudders twice on the end of the lance, then collapses dead.
Henrick, struggles and frees himself from the magicks of the Death-Speakers. With sheer will, he takes a first few shaky steps, the sign that he's free of their grip.
The Dwarves roar and charge, bringing up axes and warhammers alike. They crack open the few remaining full-plated men, beating them down. The two men stand little chance as they are battered into death, their armor ringing like the gongs of victory.
The battle is over, certainly turned tide by your appearance and your efforts. Certainly the Dwarves note this as one of the cleric advances on you quickly, extending his arms in a brotherly welcome.
"A more well-timed entrance could not have been made! Ye have the thanks of us all!" He approaches to within greeting distance, still holding his arms wide. "Who can we thank for the assistance?"

You notice Amassu has kept you in his gaze the whole time, only feigning ignorance of your presence. You're not sure if its a watchful vigil on his prisoner or an unhealthy stare...but you do note he has never removed his eyes from once you make an effort to stay in his presence.
"Indeed, though their allegiance to the dragon is not what bothers me, for many giants deal with the wyrms of legend, it is their audacity to send the dragon to fight on their behalf that irks me." Amassu continues, washing another trough of gore from his body. "I myself have dealt with dragons on many occasions, but never once have I asked them to do my bidding."
"There are many tribes of giants in these lands, bard. There are the giants of Frost high in the cold and cavernous mountain caves, the giants of Fire that stoke the volcanoes and coals far beneath the valley and the idiotic Hill Giants that roam the wide plains of the valley. There are the sand giants of the dunes, the giants of the sky - both storm and cloud - and many mixes of giant as well."[/b]
Amassu sets down the basin and looks directly at you to emphasize.
"Not matter the home or the skin, every giant respects strength."
"The giants of Fire will respect the strongest of Frost Giants. Likewise even the most brutishly strong Hill Giant is welcomed with respect in the home of a Cloud Giant. Though many tribes war with each other regularly, strength is respected above all."
"That is the purpose of the games. For each clan of giant to send forth their champion to prove they are strong enough to deserve the title of king over all giants--a title I earned 60 years ago at the previous games."[/b]
The Lord of the Skies resumes regular bathing, lifting up immense pails of water to wash over his alabaster skin. "That is why I demand special tribute from these sand giants. They sent an assassin in the form of a wyrm to take my life and for that audacity, they demand special attention. If I must eliminate them all, they will pay for the trespass eventually."[/b]
Amassu stands, practically emptying the tub when his girth is taken from it. The water sloshes around and Amassu speaks the commanding word for the cloud once more to open a doorway to the outside. You can see it is dusk now, a cool breeze whips around the cloud chamber, drying the Storm Giants' skin. The height is dizzying, but the stars are coming out in force, brightly visible above the high clouds in the sky.
Amassu wraps a simple kilt about his waist before motioning outside. "Would it please you to move outside and continue to speak?"[/b]

You fling a rock onto the other side of the roof, which - from the sounds above - got the attention of the men up there. You hear their boots pound across the wooden roof to the opposite side. Hopefully that will keep them busy for a while. You slip closer to the doorway, remaining hidden all the while...

Gildas moves behind the man marked by 'The Master', calling out the need to keep him alive. After all, two prisoners were better than one...and one of those was a man in charge. It would be fortuitous to keep him alive - if it could be done. [Attack results = Miss] However, in all the worry about softly striking him, Gildas' blow sails wide of the man's back and fails to connect.
Ah, yes you do get a save. You did fail though. Thanks for keeping me honest and for failing your save.
Wanderer has something else in mind though for this man. Worried that the leader may take them if not dealt with swiftly, Wanderer spins in a full arc with the legendary Dwarven Maul. [Attack results = Hit, Damage results = 55] With all the ferocity, energy and strength he can muster, Wanderer slams into the Death-Speaker. The man staggers, collapsing to one knee and losing his helmet from the blow. His eyes widen, he spits out a mix of tooth and blood...but gets back up to continue the fight. "I will not go that easily..." he smiles.
Tyrano makes it to a darkened corner and tosses the unconscious man aside like a sack of potatoes. Looking back down the alley, he cannot see nor hear from his companions. Hopefully they were alright...
The leader aims for Wanderer again, his eyes filled with rage and with a horrible belief that 'The Master' truly will be the end of man.
