Appearance
Cricket is a smaller half-orc favoring her human lineage in many respects. She is 22 years old, stands at 5"9 and weighs 195 lbs. Cricket has grayish pink skin and a head of frizzy dark auburn hair. She has deep-set disturbingly green eyes that look upon the world with an adorable sort of naivety, as she is not the most aware member of any group. That aside, there is absolutely no question that this woman could quite possibly tear your head clean off of your shoulders if the need ever arose. She has several scars to speak of her bipolar nature, the most noticeable being the long, thick scar which runs down her cheek bone to her chin which she is only too happy to tell the tale of. Cricket's ears, which she hides beneath her thick hair, are a particular subject of sensitivity as she was taunted for their size growing up among orcs who were considerably more physically proportionate than herself.
Cricket dons very simple, inelegant attire. Her deep green tunic is well-worn and ill-fitting, suggesting that she has owned it for a very long time.
Background
Having been born of a drunken tryst between an orc woman and human man, Cricket was not exactly a welcome addition to her mothers community of pillaging orcs. At the time of her birth, Cricket was, in fact, the only living half-orc in her community. Nonetheless, her mother nurtured her the best that she could, attempting to shield her from the cruelties that she would eventually face living among orcs. There was only so much that she could do though, and Cricket quickly learned how to be a quick and cunning warrior among brutes.
Unfortunately, when Cricket was just ten-years-old her mother did not return from a depredation mission with the others. Initially, she simply hid beneath her mother's cot singing to herself to bide the time. As time passed, however, it became apparent that she would have to feed herself now. So, taking up her mothers green tunic and a few meager belongings, Cricket went looking for work.
It wasn't easy, but eventually Cricket was able to find work with a nearby farmer who utilized orc strength to control and slaughter his cattle. She was only ten so she began as a cattle herder working herself eventually to the position of knocker. Since the disappearance of her mother, Cricket thoroughly enjoyed singing to herself and she fancied herself quite skilled despite the constant pleas on behalf of her co-workers for her to cease. Life on the farm was a never ending source of struggle for her as she was continuously taunted and forced to fight on practically a daily basis to maintain any level of respect.
After one particularly ghastly brawl in which she earned her prominent scar, Cricket decided that it was time to pursue her musical ambitions no matter the cost. She attempted to convince her employer that she was unhappy with her work and desired to leave. Unfortunately, this only resulted in her being ordered beaten and thrown within the masters' secret dungeon. There she sang to herself for nearly a year on the most scant of rations until, in an amazing feat of ingenuity and strength Cricket discovered a secret passage, bare handedly slaughtered her former master, and being deftly schooled in the geographical study of her locale, headed south by nightfall for a nearby logging town.
