SEA GREEN
(Ella’s new mount)
[...You could get a Riding Dog for 150 gp. But considering the significant loans offered to you by allies (up to 3k more, it seems), you could certainly afford something.
However, composing and exhaustive list of all the mounts Ella could get would be time-consuming and annoying for me, so I’m not gonna do it. Pick an animal and I’ll give you a range of what’s available in terms of HD progression. Could be the standard animal, could be improved. I’m kinda making this up as I go along.
Items and mount purchased, the companions return to Antyca and are soon airborn, heading northwest to the strange island of Scaland—this time watching the clouds and horizon more carefully, lest the Harbinger return. But though the flight is long, it is uninterrupted, with only the rolling terrain changing as the great roc flies overhead.
Out over the water, at last, the group spies the small island known as Scaland down below—far, far below, for they wish to pass as stealthily as possible. The naked eye can reveal a ship moored not far from the island, a massive war galleon of the kind reported to have sailed to Scaland… but it is alone. The other ships reported to have gone to the island aren’t in sight.
With her spyglass, Ella makes a few passes over the island, determining what she can. It’s difficult from such a height, with the wind and ride jostling her. Scaland is thick with jungle, as reported, and at first she cannot seem to penetrate the canopy—but then, she spies signs of buildings towards the center of the island. Not much of a clearing, really, but enough that the smoke of fires can pass up, to be diffused into the air not far from the tree-tops. Wooden buildings, primitive, are seen through the foliage as well, some of them in the limbs of the trees themselves.
There is definitely civilization there, but no sign of a calamitous war or open struggle. If there is ought going on down below, it is hidden from outside observation by the trees—as it has probably been for hundreds of years.

Gildas is introduced to Norven with extreme brevity—one who hates the Deathspeakers, and looks earnest enough in his disposition, not that any of those from Tertia have ever been particularly talented when it comes to sensing motives. Still, it is the potential for help, and he seems to know quite a bit less about what is going on—certainly he has not even grasped that a bone is being searched for, let alone why.
The group resolves to ask around about the curator and see if he can be located, starting with the best and most likely place to find someone in the know: the new museum. Inside, Lenny quickly takes charge of asking around. [Gather Info, assumedly aided by Gildas and Tyrano (I’ll only allow two aids for this)] After several hours of getting the run around, asking different university staff, and calming Gildas down, the companions eventually discover that the curator was also in a council meeting this morning… though by now he should have been back.
Which means, certainly, that he is enroute, if not on the grounds already. The group heads back to the gates, hurrying for hopes of catching the curator, his description well in mind—but they needn’t have bothered. As they approach the gates, all can see that some kind of scuffle has broken out.
Unsurprisingly, it appears to involve Wanderer.
The Yexuhl refugee is surrounded by several of the city watch, one of whom is restraining a gnome with a great, scraggly black beard and a wild look in his eyes, dressed in the disheveled clothes of an upper class fellow, though he has entirely too many scrollcases, pouches, and other accessories to be a typical gentleman. The gnome is struggling in vain to escape the burly guardsman holding him, while the other guardsmen have formed a semi-circle around Wanderer, who has Ashmodai brandished in front of him. The Skullsplitter lies at his feet, and he stands over it protectively, glaring at any that might approach.
Hot words no doubt on Gildas’s tongue fade as he realizes what’s going on. Wanderer shouts at the crowd. “Back! The maul is mine, no property of your museum! Back!”
The gnome shouts shrilly back at the big barbarian. “It’s an ancient relic, you buffoon! A lout like you can’t be traipsing about with it like some oversized club! It’s priceless! It belongs in a museum—my museum! Give it to me before you break it, you lummox!”
“Ah,” Lockheart remarks. “I believe we have found the curator.”
The stand-off continues, as all eyes are on the stand-off, and the struggling gnome. University students and visitors alike have formed a thick crowd around the incident, whispering and murmuring excitedly. A few appear to be placing bets on the probable outcome.

(I've only got 200 gold Udjat; what kind of sweet ass mounts can I get with that? I'll decide based on prices I suppose.}
