SEA GREEN

(Sean’s Ongoing Effects)
No.
Let me clarify. I can assume the Hide from Undead bit, since he can use it at-will, there’s no save, etc. Detect Undead, however, requires Concentration. So though he can turn it on at-will, you have to remember to use it. While theoretically possible rules-wise to be ‘always concentrating’, I feel this defies common sense, and it’d slow all your movement down to half anyway. Therefore, no.
If anyone else wants to have ongoing effects/spells which are constantly renewed throughout the day, let me know so I can note it by your HP. Come to think of it, I should also do this for things like DR, so that I remember…]
[The ship was moored to the southeast. The group is therefore on the opposite end, the northwest. It’s a few miles from the village—with Gro-bug leading, just a couple hours of travel.]
Henrick takes obvious comfort in Natsumi tending to him, and it is certainly not only because of the soothing water. When she looks away he frowns, but says nothing, perhaps also realizing that Amassu, who still holds such power over her, could be watching at any time. Jaw set hard, he focuses on the path ahead.
Gro-bug forges the way with guidance from the others, blazing a path through the thick jungles. Stealth is a fantasy in this place—not that any of the companions have a talent for it, anyway—so speed is relied on instead. Even so, it takes time to move through the thick jungle. All the while the question of tactics is raised—how to proceed without awakening a whole army to their presence? Disguises? But which disguises are best, lizards or the Master’s army? Something else?
As the group walks along, suddenly Ella hears something out of place in the wilds. It is a rhythmic pattern of footsteps somewhere several dozen feet away still, but generally ahead of the group. She alerts the others and looks around, but nobody sees anything out of the ordinary—though with all of the ample camouflage, this is hardly a surprise. Still, Ella is certain someone or something is out there.

Though loathing the excitable and insulting gnome, Gildas continues the line of conversation, hoping that some good can come of negotiations. Discussing with his comrades, it’s clear that the maul shouldn’t be parted with lightly, but an advantage is an advantage. Norven cautions his new allies, while Lenny worries about their loyalties to the Dwarven King, and how selling the relic might spoil this. Wanderer remains silent, but it is clear he is apprehensive about the whole thing.
Then Tyrano speaks up, directly to the curator.
Despite Tyrano’s careful and level words, the gnome is clearly offended. “You want my help? My help? And yet you refuse to let me protect this precious artifact from being lost, ruined, or—or worse! Somehow!” He brushes off his clothes which have become disheveled in the near-scuffle, lifting his chin indignantly. “And all this business of Yexuhl and shadows and terrible darkness—madness! You men are mad, certainly, but by your dress, I am hardly surprised.” He snorts. “This artifact is ancient and valuable, but you would risk a piece of history in order to… to fulfill its purpose? Inane ramblings! It is precious and of great historical significance, but it is still just a tool. A legendary tool, but… purpose?” He laughs. “I could have a maul fashioned and enchanted to duplicate the Skullsplitter with relative ease and it could fill the same ‘purpose’. It is the thing itself I desire, so that it can hang with its brethren—the other legendary artifacts of the war.”
Losing himself in the rambling, his attitude almost softens. But as if realizing this, the gnome quickly turns sour again. “The only help you fools can provide in unlocking history is to not ruin that artifact and give it to me immediately! If you’re willing to do so, then we can talk about whatever help it is you want from me.” He waves a hand dismissively, clearly not of the opinion that this help is more than a trifling matter for him.
As the gnome continues, the crowd continues to loom around the whole event, whispers and murmurs and giggling running rampant. Whatever secrecy the group hoped for has long been dashed to pieces. More worrying, Gildas spies a pair of somber-looking men that are speaking very seriously to one another, eyes on the companions. They dress in dark, plain clothes, but do not appear to be armed, nor do they carry ought but books with them. Norven spies them a moment later, too, as does Wanderer, the burly Yexuhl leaning over to Gildas. “Those men,” he mutters. “Everyone else thinks this is hilarious except them. Why?”

Lenny – 61/61 HP
Wystfalrun – 62/62 HP
Norven – 71/71 HP

Wanderer – 90/90 HP

[I’m fine with a Dire Weasel. I haven’t run all the numbers for the advanced Weasel yet, but aside from Attach/Blood Drain it’s about on par with your average riding dog. Let’s call it 1500 gp. I may tweak that after running some figures. Now name it!]

"The Skullsplitter is not a bargaining chip. We seek your aid, and you may give it or we will look elsewhere, but the treasure of the Dwarven lords has awakened in this time of need to stand before the forces of Yexuhl and the shadows that stand with it. It has not come forth in this age to hang in a damned dust-ridden gallery. You would defile the very history this artifact represents.
If you need a prize for helping us consider this: We hold the keys to unlocking an epic history that has not been uncovered for centuries. We only ask that you help us to piece together the missing parts of that tale, and perhaps come to some meaning that will bring light to a place of terrible darkness. The dwarves are wise enough to fear the Yexuhl, and I hope that you with your expensive education may show the same wisdom.
If you deny us aid, I do not doubt that the next person to ask it will have far more unsavory intentions."
