The onslaught continuing, T’chai thinks of his clutch-mates below and leaps back to the balcony. There, he is met by Dastan’s voice, and ants who press relentlessly- but are unable to penetrate the ‘kreen’s tough chitin.
Nearby, a pair of astral constructs attempt to halt the onrushing ants. The combatants exchange bite and slam, neither gaining the upper hand- though Dorian’s construct is injured in the melee.
Inside the argosy, everyone heeds the templar’s words. Stepping to action, Dorian modifies the plan to better manage the flanks, preparing for a lengthy engagement. Hearing the kineticist and understanding the strategy- and improvement- nods to Dorian in support of his plan- and with some surprise as to how well this ‘slave’ can coordinate an active battlefield, against oppressing odds. “Hold the line!” he decrees with vigorous resolve. “Fight or die!”
Silver and Harakhty move into position- the former lashing out with her slodak and missing wide while the latter prepares for the clash. The sun-servant is able to easily fend off the rushing ants. Silver, though, much less accustomed to combat, is slashed by sharp mandibles.
Dastan, slashing quickly with his short sword- but not connecting- tumbles away from the ants and falls back to Dorian’s suggested position.
As ants fill both corridors, Dorian looses his mental energy- focused into a large gout of flame. Three of the ants fall in lumps of cooked chitin while another two avoid the brunt of the flames. Any victory is short lived, however, as the ants press relentlessly, clamoring over the bodies of their fallen hive-mates, filling the corridors with clacking black chitin and gnashing mandibles.
Drog finds himself alone atop the argosy as the mantis-warrior blurts a series of clicks and pops at the half-giant and leaps off the side of the huge structure. There is little time to contemplate reasoning though as ants continue to surround the lone barbarian. He swings his mighty maul, missing one of the vermin before moving to where the odd thri’kreen leapt off. Below, he can see the bug-man – as well as Devon’s construct- standing on a balcony, fending it from encroaching ants. He hasn’t time for more than a glace though, as ants continue to swarm the half-giant.
Pressed by nearly half a dozen ants, Drog defends himself expertly. In his battle fury, the lone bite that does penetrate his defense is sloughed off by the half-giant. Adrenaline pumps fervently through the massive barbarian, as the vermin swarm around him.

- Dorian gives orders, moves, and activates his flame thrower to good effect.
- Silver moves and attacks (9, miss).
- Templar uses Tactical Expertise (hidden roll: success). Harakhty, Silver, Devon, Dorian, and Dastan each gain +3 to attack rolls for 1 round.
- Drog attacks (12, miss) and moves.
- Harakhty activates Thicken Skin and moves.
- Dastan attacks (16, miss- barely) and tumbles as a move (successful checks).
