After a moment of considering Noic's words and debating with himself inwardly, Taylor finally agrees with Noic and the two quickly head back for Greenvale to share their findings. ---------------
Once it is made known that the mayor has requested that the townspeople provide what they can to help, Ana, Askr, and Garor have little trouble acquiring the supplies which they will need.
They can get their hands on three large carriages, eight smaller carts, and a little over a dozen wagons and wheelbarrows should they be needed. Barrels and haystacks are plentiful.
In the church (Know religion anyone?) where you find out that the mayor also serves as the head priestess in the area, another priest procures two vials of holy water and two more potions of healing (CLW)
crossbows and longspears are available to the group.
There is an alchemist in the town, though he does not have on hand the items which are being requested of him, working more in the creation of salves and medicines for the sick and wounded.
He does hand over a small jar to the group. It contains a bluish balm. (will stabilize someone who falls unconscious)
No one has stepped up just yet to aid in the battle, but a few people can b seen running from place to place, some wielding weapons, others moving quickly into the smithys' shops.
As preparations are being made, all catch sight of Noic and Taylor riding into town at top speed.
Taylor heads Ana's horse toward her, slowing its pace as he approaches.
"They gonna be here soon, and they got people," Taylor announces, angry and out of breath as he jumps off of the horse.
"They got Kendal and they gonna die for touchin' her."
The group sees about fifteen men and women from the town, armed, armored and heading their way.

Ana busily starts moving barrels and coordinating the move of the other barricades. Nothing too obvious, just a cart with several barrels clustered nearby on one side of the road, as if people were offloading them. On the other side, a carriage or two. Bales of hay, etc, all in small clusters. She tries to envision people with crossbows hiding inside the carriages or laying down in carts, another two in the tower... This could definitely work. But there's still the matter of cutting off their escape, and of drawing them in. A disguise, or else an actual representative of the town would work best... But who could she willingly endanger?
When Taylor arrives, Ana allows herself a muffled curse at his news. "Of course they have people," she mutters. She focuses on the boy again, thinking. "How many people do they have, and how are they bound? How many orcs?" The more information Ana can get, the better she can handle this new development.

Finding nothing else to do, Garor runs about, helping the townspeople with their preparations.

"She ain't cryin' though. She don't ever cry for no one, and sure as hell ain't gonna for no orc. Her Mama shoulda never took that sword away from her" Taylor doesn't seem to notice Ana speaking to him, but finally he does manage to calm himself and answer her questions.
"I don't know, they got about five people, prob'ly manacled and chained up to one another like last time. Bunch of orcs, maybe twelve, maybe more I didn't see, and onyx up on his horse. I don't know. Once I saw Kendal that's all I saw. I think she saw me too and I didn't wanna get her hurt, so I rode back to Noic."
""I got my axes, I can fight 'em. You don't need to worry about me," he says to Ana, who seems to be taking charge of the planning. "If you want me and Noic to do anything speciffic, you just let us know."
He glances over at the axe which Noic wields while nodding to stress his point.

"Is there any position you could put us to flank or take out the rear, or someway we could get a few people to attack from the rear or anything? We could be out "working in the field" faces down so no one could see us, weapons hidden at our feet, clothes covering our armor. At a signal we could charge from the rear to flank them. Locking them in a Hammer and Anvil type manuver."

As battle preparations are made, Askr merely stands about. He never really was useful in combat situations, and he doubted that would change today. Find Ana working to set everything up, Askr walks over hesitantly. "Ana. Um, I was just wondering where you want me. I'm not the sort to fight, and more of a talker, but I can hopefully help out a little. I do have this," patting his heavy crossbow. "So I could be of some use as a ranged fighter."
Waiting for an answer, he realizes that he has no protection on. Raising his hands, and summoning the magic that courses through his veins he brings force an barrier around himself. "Ah, that should help me also."

Ana listens to Taylor, thinking carefully. She doesn't want to endanger the prisoners, and if Onyx is as smart as these villagers claim, he will surely try to play on their desire not to see prisoners harmed. He may decide to use them as hostages. All the more reason for surprise. When Noic and Taylor finish, she addresses them. "Actually, Noic, that's exactly what I was thinking. Of a sort. I want you to hide your nature as best you can, toiling outside the city as you suggested - or pulling a cart, perhaps. Make a show of getting clear when the orcs appear, as I'm sure the townspeople have done before. When they pass, and we confront them, it will be your job to get close as quietly as you can - we will try to delay them, at the very least, with conversation. When battle begins, do whatever it takes to take out any orcs guarding the cart and the prisoners. After that, Taylor, I want you to lead the prisoners away from the conflict, somewhere safe and hidden while Noic helps us with the orcs. Understood?"
She looks next to Askr as he approaches, Ana's eyes continually flickering to the approaching volunteers - or what she hopes are volunteers. "That depends, Askr. Do you think you can charm an orcish leader?" She smiles. "If you think there's a chance, you'll be with me and Garor to meet the orcs. Otherwise, stay back with the other townspeople and keep ready for my signal to fire. I want everyone hiding until we decide to ambush them, and I want them to stay back and out of the way as much as possible. If you're back with them, you can ensure that they keep away from the melee." Looking again at the approaching group, she pauses a moment before continuing. "For the moment, you can help by speaking with any volunteers we have," she nods towards the incoming group. "Make sure every one of them has a crossbow, and get them split into groups of three-to-five. Small enough to hide behind cover. And if you see the mayor, send her my way."
If the mayor isn't with that group, Ana will seek her out herself - or the innkeeper, or Jade. She seeks details about the last visit from the orcs - who spoke with them? Where was everyone else? She wants to recreate that scene as much as possible, with herself and Garor as part of that contingent - in disguise - if possible.
