Upon speaking with the mayor of Greenvale, the group finds out that the last two times, (and there have been only two) that the orcs have come around, Mercy has gone out to confront them upon hearing word from the guard that they were on their way.
The first time, Marcy spoke with Onyx, listening as he made known his demands for next time.
The second visit, only a few days later, Onyx came to collect and Mercy presented him with the money, not having much time at all to do anything about ridding the towns of this threat for the moment.
Each time Onyx entered with five orcs at his side, the remainder stayed back with the cart, the number of which, she is unsure.

The volunteer fighters, most of whom claim experience in fighting or at least hunting game, move into their designated spots.
Taylor helps to keep them hidden, pointing out when he is able to see someone from a particular positioning, or telling a few people to tuck in their feet or gather up their cloaks to remain unseen.
Two of the women climb the stairs to the tower, setting up their crossbows for sniping.
About three men wield longspears, ready to charge into combat if the need arises.
The mayor and her priest prepare the church for healing the injured, having no misconceptions about the horrors of battle.
Taylor prepares to take his position, nodding to confirm that he understands his task, to quickly free the prisoners when he gets the chance.
After a short while of preparations, one of the guards sent out to survey the area for the orcs' approach comes running back as swiftly as his legs will permit.
"Another three minutes and they'll be in sight," he announces.
The majority of the townspeople have been tucked away securely beneath the town hall except for those few who refused to move from their homes.m
(Along with your current actions, Just fill me in on any speciffics as to the game plan here so I know what's going on in terms of the townspeople and what you are expecting so we're all on the same page.)
