When Noic questions the boy, he shakes his head.
"I-I was just curious is all," he gets up with his bag and moves quickly out of the stables, a bit too nervous for Noic's taste.
---------------
In the morning, all is quiet.
Those outdoors move inside for a breakfast before the day's journey continues.
Ana wakes up to find Edrianna on her knees in front of her nightstand. Her hands move about the floor beneath it. When she notes that Ana is awake, she turns to address her.
"I can't find the ring," she says with a shake of her head. Her panic and frustration is evident. Now it certainly didn't just roll away." She reaches to the top of the table where the rest of her jewelry sits and grasps it all in her hand.
"Oh Ana, this can't be happening. I can't begin to tell you how much that ring is worth."
After a sweep of the area, Ana is certain that the ring is not in any of the places where it could have dropped and rolled.
It is gone.
Edrianna moves out to the dining area where Noic, Askr, and Garor are eating.
"I can't find my ring. Please tell me that one of you has seen it."
Looking to her hands, it is clear, there is no diamond ring resting upon her finger.
Marlowe is not in the dining area, but in Ana's attempt to keep an eye on his whereabouts, she passes by his door, which is slightly ajar, and catches a glimpse of him examining the contents of the leather satchel which he had brought inside with him last night.

Ana lingers in Marlowe's doorway until she is certain he has seen her. Then she meets his eyes steadily for a moment before she speaks. "You didn't have to take it, you know. She was going to give it to you."
It is clear enough in Ana's mind. She heard Jade speaking about a need for money, and from what little she could divulge and imagine, there is some kind of ransom or hostage situation - or at the very least threats demanding money. With the ring so valuable, it is the obvious choice to solve the problem.
She waits for Marlowe's response.
(OOC) If possible, she would've also grabbed Garor before swinging by Marlowe's room, explaining to him on the way what she heard the night before.

"WHAT!" Standing up violently, almost knocking over their breakfast and the table, "Well milady, have no fear. I will make sure to get to the bottom of this." Moving over, he throws an arm around Edrianna to comfort her. "Now tell me, where did you last see it? Also, where is Ana, she'll definantly want to know about this!"

ANA, GAROR
Ana grabs Garor before confronting Marlowe directly.
The two stand in his doorway watching him for a second. He does not seem to notice the pair as he examines a small purple gemstone, holding it up to the light which shines through his window.
Once Satisfied he turns to put it away and Ana's green eyes lock onto his own.
He does not drop his gaze from Ana's at the accusation.
"Dear woman, I fear that you have mistaken me for someone who should know what you are talking about."
He continues on with what he was doing, placing the stone carefully into a small pouch.
---------------
NOIC, ASKR
Edrianna shakes her head at Noic's remark.
"No, I don't know any orcs."
She is clearly upset. Askr takes her into his arm.
"I had the ring on my table last night while I slept. Ana already knows," she informs him. "I think she went back to the room."
---------------
ALL
Edrianna walks with Askr, and Noic if he decides to follow.
They head down the hall toward the rooms and spot Garor and Ana standing outside of Marlowe's opened door.

"Rest easy, lass! I found out earlier that the ring radiates magic- and one of my spells can detect that. It should simplify our search immensely, if it is indeed anywhere near here." (Garor casts Detect Magic, sweeping the area around where Edrianna slept until he has thourougly scanned a 60-ft circle. Then he investigates any faint auras of abjuration.)

(OOC) Hopefully Garor still has that detect magic screen up when she drags him to Marlowe. Confirmation, TTC?
"I heard you talking with Jade last night, Marlowe." And, spotting others coming down the hall, she refrains from saying more. Whatever she thinks about Marlowe, she is not ready to raise the accusation in front of Edrianna. Instead she merely says, a little louder. "I just thought I'd check if you'd seen Edrianna's ring, Marlowe. Let us know if it turns up."
What harm can there be in him taking the ring if Edrianna intended to give it to him, after all? The dishonesty bothers her, but the end result is that same, and if Marlowe wishes to keep his secrets, so be it. Ana would rather not arouse more trouble between the two jewelers.
And, of course, there's the off-chance she's wrong.
