{Well, congratulations guys, you are the first ones to ever not submit and end up in the prison. The idea behind this adventure was to take higher level PCs--ones that have no problem cleaning up dozens of undead--and reduce them to a situation where it's like being 1st level again. You were supposed to wind up in a jail cell, break your way out in the evening and sneak up upon the duo later...or something. With the rings and no gear, even a lowly guard would present a problem. But anyways, a few lucky rolls and some well-played spells and look where you guys got. Again, congratulations!}
Wrapping up the last of the gear from here, you realize how futile it would be to try and burn this place. Most of it is stone, that which is not is reinforced with metal...it would be hard to burn this place. But certainly, the altar is easily destroyed, the undead can be barricaded in for others to deal with and you can resuce the prisoners that were once subject to a horrid fate.
The prisoners are grateful for the coin and even more grateful for an escort back into town. They speak little, shuffling along and hoping against all hope that the freedom they experience now is not some delusion. You can glean little more from them, save that most of them fell victim to the same ploy you did--the necromancer disguised as a helpless old man.
It is only when you see the rolling hills surrounding the academy that you know in your heart this nightmare is over. Several of the students notice your approach with survivors in tow and they announce your return. Jodias himself greets you at the academy gates, several sages and clerics in behind him. He orders the clerics to help the wounded and looks concerned as he asks.
"What happened? What did you find?"
You tell him everything. Narkonnen, Neophysis, their plan to design a drink to slip into the afterlife, the years of gather subjects...and most importantly, their plan to slowly eradicate the best the academy has to offer. To this, Jodias half-smiles and half-smirks.
"Well then, I'm pleased the academy truly did send its best. You have all done exceptionally well." He points to some of the guards to help you get you gear back to your rooms. "I will see to it that the best healers the academy has to offer will assist you with these rings. In the meantime, I suggest you take some well deserved rest."
"Good job everyone. The academy is blessed to have you enrolled..."
For completing "Trapping More Than Fur", each PC gains enough experience to advance from 10th to 11th level. Please post what class you would like the level to be taken in, gold/items gained, and anything else of note. (Such as loss of a finger, etc).
Thanks for playing everyone, hope you had fun!!
