After deciding their marching order, the group make their way down the long narrow stairway. Sam takes the lead and all is going well until about the time where the wolf makes it to the centerpoint of the stairs. Something in the ground begins to shift and before anyone except Alric knows what to expect, the stairs give way, leaving nothing but a crude and steep hill in their stead. metal spikes also spring from the walls on either side of the former staircase, threatening to rip and puncture anyone who should lose footing and fall to the bottom. Alric and Halefax can only watch as their companions struggle to keep standing. ref saves Ref saves

Sam and Tork manage to remain upright as Ism and Crege go tumbling past them upon having lost their balance in such an unexpected way. spikes attack Ism [dice=20] Crege [dice=20]
The spikes rip at clothing and flesh Spiles damage Ism [dice=6]+1 Crege [dice=6]+1
Causing both men a good deal of pain. All of the others can slowly but surely make their way down the slope to the bottom level where another room awaits up ahead. An eerie green glow and the smell of rotting flesh also await the young adventurers in the room up ahead. The trick stairs will reset to form a normal staircase on their own. Character status Ism=5 damage Crege= 5 damage

"smells like..(sniff. sniff.).. something promising up ahead. shall we continue or are your stomaches not strong enough?? haha." Tork will continue toward the room up ahead(after making sure his companions are ok) (in the same marching order i assume.)

Alric steps past his wounded companions, peering into the darkness ahead. Between the clamour of their decent and Tork's boisterous enthusiasm any surprise of their approach had been lost for now.
If the rotting flesh came from previous victims of this trap someone, or something, had pulled them away. He watches Tork advance but holds his own ground while the others tend to their wounds, he will retake his position at the back of the group once they are safely past.
"Such a trap could not have been quick to make, and statues to the gods ... this does not seem like the work of the small ones."6

Sam shrugs the staircase off and proceeds to lead the group into the other tunnel.
