Appaerntly investigating the noise, a small, reptilian humanoid rounds the corner from a shadowy chamber, gaping at you. It carries a sling, and quickly reaches into a pouch at its belt for a stone. It hisses and shouts, “Intrudersss! Intrudersss!”Reacting with increadble quickness, several Kobold soldiers appear out of the shadows and charge forward. One of them, from the norther hallway, quickly skitters throught you ranks, and takes a quick stab at Doran, distracting him from the kobolds circling the pit, who decides that his back makes a great target.Attack Hits with a 25. Damage roll is 6. His back apparently makes a good target, the spear nearly slicing him, and definitely slicing his armor. 1&2 are Sling wielding Kobolds, 3,4 and 5 have spears Initiative: Kolbold Skirmishers 1- 25Dwarven Fighter -21 Gabullifax 20 Kolbold Slingers 19 Sanem 18 Doran Sharpblade 16 Clark 7 Mekarn Bladetongue 4 Harknail 3 [rand=240555922913073615674851175333004721789176444452144718173778888926]

(ooc-They spotted Doran and targeted him over the loud ones when he was trying to be stealthy?)

I think they almost tripped on Doran on their way to the noisy ones... By the way, I think Harknail's torch is providing bright light for all of use and all but kobalds 1 and 2 (who are only dimly lit from the room light). That means the slingers have cover from the darkness and a -2 for us the hit them

sanem draws his bow, then activates Evasive strike, shifting to G7 and launching an arrow at 5 for 2d10+4. (attack at +7) Then declares him as his Hunters Quarry.

(ooc-If the Dwarven fighter will set up the flank, I think we can take down #3 this round. Remember, these guys all have 20 to 40 HP. We should probably concentrate on one at a time.)

(ooc-You MIGHT wanna declare him your quarry before attacking him, otherwise the arrows hit him before he is your preferred target. ie: no bonus die. It's semantical yes, i see your intent but still this is a a tactical rpg so semantics make all the difference)

(no can do, according to the Evasive strike, the attack is part of the move, therefore i do not believe i can set off a minor thing while in the middle of a standard action. if i declare it first then th 'nearest' enemy is my target and that isn't the one i am shooting. I did in fact think of that before declareing my action, but this was my thought process.)

You DO get the prime shot bonus to your attacks roll. The hunters quarry will take effect if a warlord or some other effect allows you to attack again this round other then that you lose the bonus die this round, since you hit before declaring him your quarry. Tough nuts. Oh well you get it next round anyways.)

Clark snaps out of his little tiff with the Tiefling shifts his positioning closer to the action (shift to I6) and jabs his staff towards the Kobald to the south that the Ranger. (5) Out from the top a blueish bolt of energy launches out at the Kobald.

Doran is hoping that someone moves to J4 to flank #3 so that he can get his sneak attack. Regardless, when his turn comes up, he will use Torturous Strike [+8 vs. AC, 2d4+7] on #3 (sneak attack would give him an extra 2d6+2), and then shift to H5 (or I5 if H5 is taken).
(ooc-by the way, what movement provokes an attack of opportunity? Is it like 3.5?)

[I'm going to go on a brash assumption that Wicksy will engage Kobold 3. If this turns out not to be the case, replace my action with a Viper's Strike on 3, moving to J4 to flank with Doran.]
Despite his laconic and disagreeable manner, Gabe springs to action the moment battle ensues. He notes where his comrades are starting to move and encourages them along those lines. "Hark--help out Doran and the dwarf. Keep that maul low, these runts can be slippery!" He moves forward, eyeing the ground around the pit warily. [How deep is it?] If it looks like Mekarn can get out on his own, he leaves the Dragonborn to it. Otherwise he starts fishing out some rope.
Gabe checks on the dwarf's progress with the kobold. "Again! Don't give him a moment to breath!"
[Gabe will give the Dwarf a Commander's Strike to attack his target (3, I hope) again, with a +4 bonus to damage. He'll move as safely close to Mekarn as he can to survey his situation--I'd love Harknail's spot, but he's in it. H5 might provoke? Not sure. Let me know what I can do.]

So the Dwarf saw the kobalds, turned and ran out the stairs.
Uh oh, that leaves Harknail as the only defender to defend 5 others. And so far he hasn't done a good job. That shifty kobald shifted right past him.

Harknail was slow witted, but he could follow commands in combat. Moving next to Doran, he saw that one of the kobalds was already getting plenty of attention, so he directed his energies at keeping the other one out of the fray.
Move Action: Shift to H5 Minor Action: Divine Challenge Kobald 4 (marked, -2 to hit anyone else, takes 5 radiant damage if attacks anyone else) Standard Action: Holy Strike Kobald 4; +7 vs AC; 1d8 + 5 damage
Edit: Forgot Warforged Tactics, Doran helps Harknail hit (adjusted above)

As the ground below him gave way, one word came to his mind. "Crap." Falling into the pit below he found himself waist deep in glowing algae and musty water. However there was no time to be lost, up above he could hear what could only kobold warcries. Though the tiefling and the elf looked like they could handle themselve, he worried a bit for the runty looking humans. He had better find his way up before there were any fatalities. Taking a few steps back first, he runs and leaps for the edge of the pit (OOC-pit is 10 feet deep<PM from gm> i have reach of 8) Athletics roll DC10 +1 from str 9 to beat [dice=20][rand=5220725376458231390046474908920865332366909004718767880687160391]

[Since we're out a Dwarven Fighter, my action should be changed to flanking from J4. Even if it provokes an Opportunity Attack. Viper's Strike @ +7]
[dice=20] Total: 14
If it hits, 2d4+3 damage and shifting provokes an Opportunity Attack from an adjacent ally of my choice.[rand=3413625219907463549894018205708661696171278065606317026059799987192]

I thought the GM was rolling the dice--but if that is not the case, lets try it to hit: [dice=20] +8 (with improved odds if Gabe is flanking) vs. AC damage [dice=4] + [dice=4] +7 and, if Gabe is giving flanking, sneak attack give another [dice=6]+[dice=6] +2 Now, lets see if that worked.[rand=98250855249481975512249995461823486901399477140348650596489210907]

Wow, a natural 20. Is that max damage for the whole thing? That would be 29. So Doran does 29 damage to #3 and shifts to H5. Of course, this doesn't happen until after #1 and #2 have had a chance to pelt him with stones. His current HP is 24 of 30.
Doran barks a curse in pain as the shifty little kobold that dodged around him stabs him in the back with its spear. Whirling, he sees that the creature is distracted by the loud tiefling behind it. With a vicious smirk, Doran *censored for graphic violence* and steps toward the center of the room so to keep his enemies from surrounding him.
