The adventurers press on with some coaxing of the vermin variety.
Sar manages to hinder the pit trap's functionality.
He realizes that this ais a good thing, because aside from keeping his fellows from falling into a grave of unknown depth, there is also a strange contraption set in place. It looks as if it would be triggered by the sliding of the floor. It appears to be a noisemaker of some sort which would have done well to alert any nearby.
The group moves past the pit trap, walking upon the ground without any troubles.
Down the straight and darkened corridor. . .
Light can be seen through a crack in the door up ahead.
Sounds of loud laughter and the clinking of glass items can be heard by all.
They come from within the room.

"Can I have one of those healing potions? My sucking chest wound is starting to itch." (Assuming he gets one, as he is the most injured of the group as well as being only 1 HP away from dropping: healing [dice=8]+1) Reflecting on the fact that healing potions always taste like almonds, Sar sneaks up to the door and peeps through the crack, trying to get a good feel for what they're dealing with here.[rand=670377973686459846195416515710674444920515931639569418656873198841]

Sar drinks up and his wounds begin to close nicely.
Taking a peek and listen at the door, it doesn't sound like there are too many creatures inside. Maybe about three or four.
Sar can't quite make out what they are doing in there, but he catches a few shadowy glimpses. Short ones, like kobolds, and a larger form, maybe a humanoid.
They don't really say anything which our heroes can understand. Maybe just exchanging really bad jokes over drinks or dinner from the sound of things.

Sar backs up a little bit, lowering his voice and telling the rest what's going on. "Not too many of them, but the hobgoblin's there. Get ready to rush in behind me." Then, he racks a masterwork bolt, rushes forward, kicks in the door and fires a shot at the closest target he sees. [dice=20]+4 [dice=8][dice=6]+1

With his axe and shield held high, Balen bursts through the doorway after Sar gives it the boot, running directly at the nearest foe. His axe whistles as he expresses his grievances. "Yaaaaaaaargh!!"
