Satisfied with his own handiwork, having only left Crooknek with 1 hit point by the look of that nasty wound, Balen is content to fall to the ground.
Sar knows the drill. He pulls a big red cup full of alcohol out of his pack and dumps it on himself. Fortunately he drank all the booze beforehand and replaced it with water. He manages to douse the flames after a few seconds.
Pandoro asks Crooknek why he chose not to kill Balen, but without waiting for a response, he stabs him nonlethally in the crotch.
Crooknek's hands instinctively fall to his groin and Pandoro finally realizes that if he ever wanted to automatically disarm a humanoid male, this tactic would probably work more often than not.
Afraid to admit that he didn't think he would do enough damage to kill Balen if he didn't use the merciful attack, Crooknek's longsword falls to the ground and he, like Balen, is rendered unconscious.
Afraid for its life, the kobold waves his hands in the are, though it still clutches it's sling.
"No no no no no. . . you started it." the creature accuses, trying to bring some rationalization to the table in hopes of saving its scales.
It then withdraws sixty feet, right past Sar and out of the door, its footfalls echoing down the hall.
Crooknek is down
Balen is down
The remaining kobold flees
