Pre-game notes on notation
In order to make things quick, dirty and clear, the following tags will be used for differentiating text.
[Blocking] This tag will be used for matter of fact description of the scene as the players sense it. Blocking text need not be interpreted, it simply is.
Description Text in italics will be used for describing perceptions. This text may be subject to interpretation by the players. For example, an object may be described as “beautiful”, but your character need not have that opinion.
DIALOG: The character’s name will be written in all capital letters followed by a colon for dialog. This content of the text need not be interpreted.
(Inflection) This tag will be used for adding notes to blocking or dialog that the player may wish to scrutinize or to simply add detail in a section of factual text.
/DM Note/ This tag is used for information that is completely outside of the context of the characters’ perceptions, but is relevant to the players.
DM Requests and Instructions Bold lettering will signify a direct comment from the DM to the players. This may include asking for modifiers, asking for rolls, mechanical explanations, answers to questions or scene direction.
And to reiterate from before:
The players must be willing to take descriptive liberties during their emotive text.
The players must be willing to limit or eliminate non-descriptive text from their posts. Anything that the other characters can’t sense or the other players need to know need not be written.

As the noble speaks, a tall man clad in a chainshirt, a massive sword strapped to his back, mills about the crowd. His bright blue eyes falling upon the women of the room endowed with ample bossoms. He makes no secret of his admiration of the ladies.
He does not hesitate to approach the woman clad in red silk as she heads up the stairs.
"Yo, I'm Rhett," he offers his introduction, but otherwise does not hinder her progress.
He finally settles in at a table where he orders up one of the finest liquors in stock. He makes small talk with the group he sits with, his eyes shifting from the breasts at the table around him to the general area of the ballroom.
A scene near to the bar catches his eye.
The man stretches his arms out and sighs heavily as he rises to his feet.
"I'll be a minute," he says as he leaves the table and moves toward the bar. As he walks, he makes no effort to excuse himself or step aside, seeming to expect most people to get out of his way or get bumped into on their own.
He gets to the point near to the bar where it would appear that the noble's wife and another woman have been confronted with conversation from a well dressed man holding a glass of some liquor or another. The noble's wife makes an attempt to step away, but the well dressed man places a hand upon her arm and continues to speak, unwilling to let her part so soon.
The tall man clad in the chainshirt and with the massive sword strapped to his back places a firm hand upon the well dressed man's shoulder.
"Why don't you have another drink," he offers as he roughly shoves the well dressed man into the front of the bar which accepts the full force of the impact with a shake. Glasses rattle and a bottle of wine falls and shatters beside the well dressed man who now lies sprawled out on the floor. The contents of the wine bottle quickly soaking into and staining his suit.
"Well, looks like you've had one too many there already, Big Boy." the armorclad man laughs as he pulls the man to his feet by the hair.
"Better call it a night,"
He proceeds to drag the formerly well dressed man toward the exit of the ballroom. The man struggles to break free, but can get nowhere as he continues to be hauled only half walking, out of the room where he is tossed away and does not return to the party.
The armor clad man returns to his seat and his drink.

/TTC: You don't have to use my system, so don't feel forced. I just feel most comfortable presenting information like a script, particularly at times when there is a need to be clear. The point of seperating [blocking] from (inflection) is so that you can easily tell the difference between where there is pure factual information and where there is an inference of value.
All the information in italics is done as descriptive text. Its a flashback sequence and the player characters have no ability to change what has happened, so its being told as a narrative for simplicity. And so it is with memories, each character, depending on their motivations and personality, may spin the scene slightly differently. /

Like some bizarre shadow, a man has clung to the Noble's side nearly all night.
He is pale and gaunt in features, overweight in girth, and uncomfortable in presence. He is not hard to make out amongst the throng of attendees, for he is the only one dressed as though he was assaulted by an army of brightly colored carnival flags. His ivory-powdered skin makes him only more visible, as does the golden tip of his walking staff--a figurine of an open book. The man walks with a slight limp, aggravated by his weight.
The noble mingles with the crowd and the pale carnival man is never far behind. Like some stench that clears a crowd, his presence in a group slowly pushes all others away, including the noble, who flits to the next social puddle of people. The man follows silently minutes later, only to repeat the cycle at least a dozen times this night. It as though the carnival-man has no friends and knows no others besides the noble.
Eventually the carnival-man moves to a distant corner, far from everyone else, and stares into his cup was he swirls it about slowly. He sighs heavily and remains in the corner, looking to a nearby window as though he might jump through it to escape the unnerving presence of so many.
Something flits about outside the window...a bird maybe?

Moving through the room a man wearing a well polished chain shirt with a pair of short swords at his hip, catches a few eyes. He is not a pretty man and appears to have been through too many brawls to count. He carries himself well, sometimes stalking other times gliding through the crowd.
Were anyone to pay attention he tries to stay near to the host, finding a way to make himself near at hand should the fellow wish to speak more to him. There have been a few exchanges of information but the host was ever moving and didn't seem to stay in place long enough to have conversations with much of anyone.
Carrying around two goblets of wine he usually gravitates towards the ladies so as to be seen by the host and have hsi fun with the ladies as well.
Who he is or what his motivations are none can say, though he'd heard bits of speculation freckled through the crowd. Bounty hunter some called him, thief others, bodyguard to a few, and yet others simply a lowlife party crasher. But certainly he would not be here if the Host did not wish it.
When the host gives his announcement of a grand adventure the man seems non-plussed; deeply involved with his goblets of spirits. He does however follow the woman in red with his eyes as she ascends the stairs. He however, was not the only one to do so.
(kind of cruddy, but I'm screwed for time at moment and didn't want to hold things up any farther)
