The four of you head down the streets of Boston, half expecting the house to be a top some hill or out in the middle of nowhere but are suprised to see that it is inside the city, infact it's like the city was built around it and this house was stuck in time.
As Greg announces your arrival, you are stuck by how withdrawn the house is from the street, almost as if it creeps into the shadows in the alley the two apartment buildings next to it form. The house itself seems to have kept some of the remnents of the rural area Boston used to be, it has a front lawn with trees and ivy growing along the face of the house and an over-grown backyard.
Upon inspection of the house you see that there are three entrances, a side, a back and of course the front door.
The apartments buildings are rather busy with people heading in and out all the time, the only person you see standing still is an older fellow, he appears to be the doorman for the apartment.

As they head out to the old house Jacob thinks
Wow that Heinrich guy is a really jerkoff. I better keep a close eye on him. I have always liked a good mystery, maybe I can even nab a few old things from the house. Some people never even know the value of their things...
As they approach the house he says
"I am going to chat up the doorman, see if he has any useful info. Oh and Adolf go get us some coffee, ya know make yourself useful." And without waiting for a reply he walks over the the doorman and begins a conversation
OOC: Jacob will be polite and friendly to the man and eventully draw the conversation over to the old house, claiming to be a scout for a local real estate developer.

If it wasn't for Gregory, this jerk would regret it. Later.. he can be sure about that.
Better keep my mouth shut. For now.
To Greg: ''I'll take a look around the house.''
With this, he walk to the house's backyard, looking at everything. Expecting to see, nothing actually.
(OOC: Can I make a psychology roll(?) to 'analyse' the personnality of the two other investigators?)

Upon arriving at the house Peter looks a bit dismayed.
Hrmm it is a bit strange for a house like this to be in a place like this.
Laughing at the Jacob's remarks towards heinrich he says,
" All right I am just going to hang back and observe Jacob, no point in me also going up to this doorman since i doubt he would believe any story I came up with, with the kind of mug I got."
OOC: Peter is just going to generally wait near the apartment building attempting to over hear any information that Jacob can pump from the doorman.

Jacob & (Peter eavesdropping): "Ya know, you remind me of my grandson, ought to be about your age right around now, but that's not what your here for is it?" the doddering old man can't help but bring a smile to your face.
You turn the conversation towards the old house and he seems to get a little tense but continues. "That house has been here for as long as i can remember, was here since my pappy has been here, I'd say been here before the First World War. That house is nothing but trouble though, hasn't had an owner that stayed for a long time or didn't leave under poor conditions since I was a kid, only then, I can't remember that man's name, got in some trouble with the law, I recall my pappy coming back from court one day quite flustered about something, don't recall what though, if ya tried hard enough you could probably find out more in the paper it was a pretty big deal if I remember." he pauses to wipe his forehead, "It is a dern shame what happened to the Macario's though, they lived in the house most recently, I was pretty good friends with them, they came out to talk to me every day. They both are committed now, Roxbury sanitarium, poor family, Ms. Macario told me the two boys are living with their Aunt and Uncle in Baltimore."
The old man seems to be much more haggard now and he says, "I don't really want to talk about it anymore, if you have any other questions, or you would just like to talk, I'm always here." He gives you a big grin as he helps a young couple enter the hotel.
Heinrich: You try to get a bead on what Peter and Jacob are truly like but you just can seem to classify them, you haven't been with or talked to them enough for any reasonable guess, all you seem to know is that they don't care for your political choices. (No psych check taken)
Gregory decides to join you on a search of the house's grounds. As you walk around the house taking in as much as you can without entering. Testing the front door you find its locked, not really to be unexpected. You do find two other doors, a side and a back, both unlocked which you find peculiar, thinking th at if you wanted to break into a place the back door is where you would try first.
There are several windows along the front of the house and on the second floor, all with a view of the street and with a pair of old shutters. You also notice a ground-level window on the west side of the basement with a curtain on the inside. Heinrich as you begin to turn you attention else where Greg calls you over to the windows on the ground floor, "Hey what do you make of this???" He points to what you failed to notice, all of the windows are nailed down and shut so that they cannot be opened. (Heinrich spot hidden roll: 29 - Fail / Greg Spot hidden Roll 59 - Success)

"Was the house still inhabited? From what you've said earlier, the house should be empty."
"Maybe the former owners came back to get some of their stuff. That should explain why the side and back doors are unlocked."
"And if it wouldn't be that, maybe he left the doors unlocked since he knew that we would come inspect it. No.. ?"
Heinrich goes to the side door and knock while he open it slowly. He then say loud enough to be hear if someone anywhere in the house is present. "Is someone there?"

Althael: Greg looks as dumbfounded as you do and says, "Well the house hasn't been occupied for about a year or so, but it is possible that the landlord left the doors open for us, i don't know why he wouldn't just give us a key."
You knock and ask if anyone is about but there is no answer. From where you are you see that the side door opens up to a mud room, where the families must have stored coats, hats and boots as they went in and out, it's possible that this was used as the main entrance, you notice that the door has 3 deadbolts on it and 2 additional locks. There is a closed door on the other side of the room.

Weird...
"Well, they don't seems to answer.. let's take a quick look now until the two clowns return."
He then enter the house and look briefly into the rooms, going at the other end of it to get to the next room.
Eh... that's exiting.
...damn, I feel that my own sarcasm are getting lame.. this is bad.

(OOC: Sorry about the delay plans changed and I had to go home early for Canadian Thanksgiving, no internet access at home so this has been my first chance to post.)
Jacob smiles at the old man and attempts to get his phone number in case he needs to get ahold of him later. He then makes a mental note of the names and dates so he can check the microfilms at the library later in the day.
Hummm maybe this will prove to be a little interesting...
He then decides to go back to the house and see what their new professor friend has found around the house.
(OOC: Jacob will follow Heinrich around unless he finds something of interest. As soon as there is an opportunity to he wants to get to a large public library. When we get there I will post a list of topics and time periods he will want to look into.)

Heinrich: You open the door exiting the coat room, you are in a long hallway, to your right there are four doors, two on the same side of the hall as the coat room was, one directly ahead which you note to be the front door, and one to the left of the front door. To your left there is across the hall a kitchen with the door wide open. The back door and two sets of stairs (one going up another down) also to your left.
As you think about how long it would take to search the house, a hand clasps down on your shoulder. It's Peter, he and Jacob have come back to the house after thier interview of the doorman and explain what they have learned.
"I think checking the library wouldn't be a bad idea at all" Greg states.
(Up to you guys to decide what to do, search the house or investigate it a little more first)

"Lets head down to the central library before going any further. I don't like going into a situation just knowing myths and rumors. Besides it's the middle of the day and I don't want to have to deal with cops or nosy neighbors."
OOC: Jacob votes for a library trip

Then the place is a bit old.
''Yeah, sure. But I'm checking something before..
He look at Greg weirdly.. He saw something in the house and don't even look for it.. right. Though this isn't bright, especially from him.
He then check in rooms on the same side of the house where Greg saw something. If not the ground-floor completely.
