When the group arrives at Heth's door, they discover it is already partially open, though merely a crack. Those caring to listen near the door can discern the sounds of muttered words from beyond - chant-like, as perhaps a prayer might be. Before too long, the sounds cease, and footsteps approach the door, urging it open. One way or another, he apparently knew you were there.
Gretting you is a humbly-dressed man in his middle years, his face showing the signs of an active youth and hardwon wisdom. His eyes are strong and steely, but not unkind. After looking you all over for a moment, he smiles very slightly and steps back from the door, gesturing to his room. "Please, come in. You must be the adventurers I was told would be sent."
The room is barely furnished and quite simple. The man has barely settled in, apparently preparing to be on the move relatively soon - His pack is still mostly ready to go, settled at the foot of his bed with his other gear nearby. In one corner of the room is a small makeshift shrine, with the ex-monk's holy symbol hung from the wall, suspended over a simple wreath of flowers on the floor. A mat is just before that, showing where Toran was kneeling mere moments ago. The only other item of interest is a large chest of unique design, stained dark. It once bore a symbol on its front that has since been scratched out to complete obscurity.
When you have all found a place, Toran Heth speaks again. "I suppose you have all been told something of the task I need. Not long ago, I fled the Dark Moon monks and their obscene order. I tried to undo much of their evil in my departure, seizing various items of power to bring them to the proper containment - or, in the case of the untainted, liberation. Sadly, I was unable to secure what has been revealed to be a most important item to me - It is half of an amulet, set in the form of a black crescent moon. As you can imagine, the monks there hold this amulet in high regard, the master among them personally carrying it."
Toran pauses a moment to pace fitfully, frowning at the situation. "The monks do not quite understand the importance of this amulet, and for that we can be thankful. They know it is powerful, but don't understand its purpose. I have discovered this purpose, and have sworn an oath to take the amulet and seek out its other half, and by joining the two together, restore balance to the artifact. Then I will take the amulet to the safest place I can find, there to be kept from the hands of these monks and others like them for eternity. The trouble, however, is that I dare not go near the Temple again. Though I am strong in my newfound faith, the Temple would be a particularly dangerous place for me personally, and I know my efforts would meet with failure. The master there knows my mind, and would know well how to stop me. Thus, I ask of you adventurers to retrieve the amulet for me. In return, I offer you this chest," he motions to the one you noticed upon entering, "and its contents. Rest assured that though I took many things from the monks, those that were dangerous have been dealth with, and those with a particular importance have been taken to the proper authorities on such matters. The rest is contained in that chest, and as I no longer have a want for such things, I will leave them to you, should you return with the amulet. Furthermore, you are ofcourse free to take all that you find from the Temple itself, though the warning about such findings should go without saying. Take at your own risk, friends."
Toran takes a moment to regard each of you, then. "Please, feel free to ask me any questions you may have. Otherwise, assuming you are still up for the challenge, I will give to you a map I've drawn that details how to get to the Temple, and what I remember of its interior."
