SEA GREEN
Gro-bug and Ella demand the release of the prisoners, even urging the Callers to come to them—impossible, given the intervening bars. The group has the Callers’ full attention, however, and they cluster near the edge, eager to get out.
Sean and Natsumi confront the strange arcanist and his activities. Natsumi looks over his strange symbols, the blood, his contraptions, but none of it makes any sense to her. She can only speculate.
But Sean is ready with an answer first. Knowing a bit about the arcane, he knows the sight of necromantic activities when he sees them—or mostly necromantic activities. There are no telltale corpses and gems, but the work required to create flesh golems is particularly distinct—and the patchwork cat, surely an earlier experiment, is a dead giveaway
The man scoffs. “Reanimator? That would presume that I, Radgar the Magnificent, have an interest in recreating something, instead of building marvelous new wonders.” He backs away. “I’m afraid I can’t—won’t—release the prisoners. Their contributions are much too important. Magical advancement can’t be stifled.” He glances over one shoulder and a lumbering shape shuffles into view—a flesh golem, just as Sean guessed. The creature is a patchwork of different bodies, most of them humanoid, though a few key limbs show colored scales and other anatomy reminiscent of the Scalanders.
“Show them what I mean, Igor.”

DARK RED
Gildas, Lenny, Sayo-
Noting Lenny on the move and the guards soon to close in, Gildas does his best to speed things along. He heads for one of the remaining clerics at the gate, attacking viciously, his sword striking sure and true—though not yet enough to kill the Deathspeaker. Sayo continues to target Aurost, floating up and flinging down a bolt of eldritch energy. The attack catches Aurost full in the chest and he rumbles angrily inside his helmet.
Meanwhile, Lenny flees the scene to keep the precious copper bone safe, finding a small enclave of temple defenders to stay near. They appear to be winning their small skirmish, and soon can surely help him.
Aurost copes with the reality of his dwindling forces. “Enough!” he shouts. “We leave! Kill the last Tertian! And one of you, do something about this poltergeist!”
The Deathspeakers smoothly turn their focus and obey. The remaining fighters plunge towards Gildas, but he is too quick and agile to be caught, even with them flanking him. One of the clerics sees this and instead summons up noxious magic and in one hollow voice commands, “Fall!” Gildas feels the magic pull on his mind, wrapping sinuously around it, and suddenly feels the overwhelming compulsion to drop onto the ground—and stay there. The Deathspeakers around him grin wickedly.
Per Aurost’s orders, one of the clerics looks to Sayo and raises the wickedly hooked symbol of the Master. The area surges with negative energy and the cleric attempts to impose his will over the ghost—and much to Sayo’s alarm, the negative energy is truly overwhelming, slamming through her senses like a tidal wave. It attacks something deep down in her new nature, seizing on the primal undead essence within her and cowing it into submission—for now. A sneaky trick that Aurost has been reduced to, perhaps betraying his concern for this battle, but this is cold comfort.
Aurost himself nods in satisfaction and steps over to Wanderer’s fallen body. He reaches down and picks up the dwarven maul, Skullsplitter, feeling its weight with a curt nod. “No bone, but this will do. Vorkal will be pleased.” He turns his head to Sayo, perhaps wondering if there is time to test the legendary weapon out. Just to be sure.
But already guards are clambering over the iron fence, several of them dropping down inside the compound. They look angry and full of resolve, ready to finish off these Deathspeakers. And more are coming behind them.

(Not-So-Quick Summary)
- Gildas isn’t going to be able to charge and avoid the AoO, and he can only bull rush an opponent directly into the opposite direction. So no bull rush to move them out of the entrance. I’ll default to move and attack K14. Hits, 18 damage.
- Wanderer bleeds. But somehow passes the stabilization check (with a 9).
- Sayo moves 5’ Up and West, hovering over L8 (note this does not yet move her out of reach). Eldritch Spear attacks, hits, 2d6 damage: 7.
- Lenny makes a full withdraw to S1.
- Deathspeakers begin to retreat. First, the fighters go after Gildas: both miss. One of the clerics attempts to Command Gildas to fall prone. Will Save @ +4: 8, fails. On his turn he will drop. Cleric then moves to L13.
- The last cleric attempts to Rebuke undead (i.e. Sayo). Check: 18, enough to affect her. She is forced to cower for 10 rounds (but I think this combat is almost over, so just bear with me).
- Deathspeakers holding the line do some fightin’ with the guards. Inconsequential at present.
- Aurost steps over to Wanderer and scoops up the Skullsplitter.
- Climb checks for the guards: 5 make it over the fence. Those by the gate focus on the clerics. They have a little success; one cleric is almost down.
- Initiative goes to Gildas, who must drop prone. Otherwise, he can continue to act (attacks while prone are at a -4 penalty)
